Located in the centre of town, this hotel was always busy with locals and tourists alike. We were welcomed immediately and a table for two was quickly offered. The staff were all friendly and efficient, very professional throughout attending to our requirements. The choice of food was excellent, particularly the fish dishes. I had Swordfish which was cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable, in line with the all round quality offered. Week enjoyed our visit so much we went a second time within our four day stay, and received an identical experience at this superb restaurant.

I had an early dinner here - there’s a special offer from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. It’s very good value. I had Hummus with Olives etc which was tasty, then the Fish of the Day - a baked fillet of salmon. It was very nice, presented well and delicious. The restaurant is located a little further out of Bowness-on-Windermere than most shops and eateries, nearer Windermere village, so it probably doesn’t get noticed by a lot of visitors. It’s worth a visit though.

Just had a couple of nights here and what a great find. Perfect location in the middle of Windermere with off street parking. Lovely large room, big enough for a table and chairs in the window which we had our breakfast at. Staff lovely and friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Had a meal here which was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

We passed this whilst going to park the car. Looked interesting so we went back for breakfast. We ordered and when it came there was a mistake as we had ordered the large breakfast and just the normal breakfast came which had no black pudding. After initially saying it was what we ordered some black pudding arrived “on the house” and also when we got the bill they had also knocked a discount for the inconvenience as well as an apology. This would certainly not put us off as the mistake was rectified and apology made. We would definitely return.

Stayed for one night in a standard double room.Pleased to find parking available onsite to the front of the hotel. Check in was polite and efficient.Found the room to be clean, well maintained with quality furnishings. Nice view out over the town to the lake and Belle Isle.En-suite clean and modern with very powerful corner shower, heated rail etc.Dined in the restaurant with table service, food also available in the various bar areas all of which are tastefully decorated throughout and creates a welcoming ambiance.Food was good quality and well cooked, well priced, and service was excellent.Fillet steak cooked perfectly to order.Bed was comfy, room quiet, well slept.Breakfast didn’t disappoint, good selection of continental and cooked options. Full Cumbrian was excellent. Service again excellent.Bar area equally appealing as a lounge area during the day, selection of various seating with some comfy leather chairs, perfect for relaxing after breakfast to read the paper and the fire crackling in the background. To summarise this is a well appointed small hotel, which is run to the highest standard. It has been thoughtfully and tastefully modernised and decorated throughout with quality fixtures and fittings. The attention to detail is evident throughout. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Angel Inn, and look forward to returning.Dear Reviewer, please be aware that we no longer respond to your reviews on an individual basis. Stumbled across The Pig on a Monday mid afternoon - absolutely starving from a long walk. Really welcoming service from friendly staff. The food was immense - pulled pork and crackling muffin with the best chips. It was perfect. We were so full but also the food was really good quality. Would love to visit again if we lived nearer!!

We booked an evening meal whilst staying two nights at a dfferent hotel in Windermere. Nice greeting by the two gents behind the bar. Booked us in and arranged drinks. Taken through to the restaurant, again the staff were efficient, menu explained and orders taken. We noticed that the waiters needed towels to carry out plates so they must be hot, disappointed that our waiter didnt and our plates were cold. I had the suet beef pud with chips and peas, the pease were stone cold and my food quickly followed, our waiter did bring a dish of red hot peas. My wife had the special meat dish which was luke warm with red hot sweet potatoe fries. Very disappointing. We did get two drinks free to compensate. Wont go back
