We stopped here for lunch and were delighted with our meal. So nice to find a place that serves soups year-round! Most dishes are accompanied with rice and beans, and you have the option of choosing the familiar refried beans or their delicious frijoles de olla. Everything was tasty and well-prepared, and our server was friendly and helpful. This terrific restaurant is easy to find if you're just passing through Emmetsburg-- it's located near the stoplight at Highway 18 and Broadway. If you pass the courthouse you're gone too far. Highly recommended!

Never did I imagine I would be writing about a fast food restaurant but this DQ needs some accolades. I just completed a 5,000 mile round-trip journey from my home in Calif to Iowa. This restaurant was, by far, the cleanest and sharpest fast food restaurant I have ever been in. At my 65 years of age that's saying something. The staff looked sharp and acted sharp. I still can't get over how clean the place was. The franchise owner and the managers should be commended. I tried to contact DQ Hdqt. but their website doesn't work as smoothly as this restaurant does. Maybe someone from this Emmetsburg DQ should help them out.

Sum Hing is a family run restaurant it the little town of Emmetsburg, Iowa. They have a complete menu and a reputation for fast and very good service. I eat there often and have never been disappointed. It's worth the trip to take in Emmetsburg, and Sum Hing restaurant!

Ate here after a wake. All the pizza, chicken, sweet pizza was overcooked. There was little to no cheese on the "cheesy breadsticks". The beef pizza cheese tasted like milk, it looked delicious, but the cheese taste was blah! The sweet pizza was crunchy done, over cooked. The thin crust pizzas were about burnt. I don't know if they were understaffed that night, but dirty dishes remained on the other tables all the time we were there, no one cleared them. Was very disappointed, would choose another restaurant next time we are in Emmetsburg.

Staff is very attentive; good for kids; casual ; you won't walk away hungry; inexpensive meals, most are under $12.00; clean & friendly. They offer a Sunday Breakfast Buffet from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm $8.99. There are Daily Breakfast Specials from 6:00 am to 10:30 am at $4.69. After 10:30 am the Breakfast Specials are $5.69. Our meals were very tasty, soup was good & pie for dessert was excellent.

Neat atmosphere, showing the old bricks of the building, polished wooden floors, wooden tables. Server attentive. Fast service. Tenderloin was a bit small as compared to other places we've been. Patty melt on rye bread, tasty. Fries thin. Onion rings, standard out of the freezer, I love onion rings, and really love homemade ones, these were not, they were just ok. Menu is your standard burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches, tenderloins. Did have steak and yes, lobster too. Was hoping for some new takes on sandwiches, new ingredients, etc. Would have liked to try something new, not just the same old burgers. Everything was good, if you like the basics, try them out. $8.00 for burger and fries, didn't think that was too bad. $45 14oz. steak and lobster for 2 special. Thought prices were pretty decent.

I stopped here for a quick Root Beer, But what caught my eye was the antique A & W Mascots outside of the building. Great piece of Roadside America/ Roadside Architecture.

This place is still fast food no matter how healthy they try to spin in. Staff not friendly and the food is so processed you are better off with a home made sandwich.

Decent service, appropriate prices, quality that would be expected from McDonalds. We often have large special orders, and the food is prepared in a timely manner and staff are always friendly. As much business as we've done here, they have not once gotten our order wrong...and this is commendable.
