This is a small and relatively informal restaurant, but with an excellent staff making interesting and creative dishes. My wife and I shared vegetarian appetizers and entrees, and were pleasantly surprised by the pleasant dining experience. The wait staff seemed very knowledgeable about ingredients. Not an inexpensive meal, but sharing appetizers or meals can keep expenses down. I would like to return again.

Single complaint, Which has been noted many times before to management...CHINCY PAPER STAWS, THAT BASICALLY ARE NOT USABLE...WHY WOULD MANAGEMENT SPOIL THE MENU BY CHEATING ON PAPER STRAWS...GOT ME.............MAYBE SOMEONE WILL WAKE UP. ?????

Excellent high-quality small kosher bakery (entry actually on side street). The bagels are thick and chewy. Some bagels and breads are also sold at Creekside Coop, one-half block away. A neighborhood gem, though some people come a considerable distance. Closed on Sat. and major Jewish holidays.

My children and grandchildren always want to head here when they visit because the ice cream is wonderful. They also have excellent shakes and even make a "chocolate soda" for me which is almost impossible to find anywhere else. Also, next door is an excellent candy store and the best cup cakes you will ever find.

Anne's Kitchen Table

We on Saturday late afternoon for lunch. The place is small, cure and intimate. Off the main street, so no street noise. We had their coffee, and sandwich, The food was tasty and portions were perfect (neither too large nor too small). Limited menu options but they also had very unique selection of salads. Interesting thing - note the names of dishes. You can make out its a family run business. There was shelf full of cook books. But if you are not seated next to the shelf then you wont get to enjoy the books unless you awkwardly ask look at the shelf over people's food. We tried the brownies. They were very large but dry. I liked their sandwich and southwest soup better.

Marco Polo Ristorante & Bar

Visited here with my family on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was very busy, and the service subsequently a little slow. No matter, that allowed us extra time for conversation. The facility looks a bit run down: The table finishes were chipped, and the glassware scuffed. I ordered the chicken Florentine Pannini (or should it be "panino?"), which I found well-prepared, but somewhat bland. The rest of our party said their food was excellent and included panini, pasta, and chicken dishes.

White Elephant

Reviewed By AuntieFlo - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I had an appointment in nearby Jenkintown and didn't feel like going home and making dinner. I stopped at White Elephant. I've been there several times before with friends. This time I ordered a cup of coconut chicken soup. The soup was hot in temperature (not spice) and the carrot slices were cut like little flowers. I have always wanted to try the appetizers but because I usually go with friends and we split the check, we all just order an entree. So, I had the appetizer plate with 6 different appetizers and a cabbage salad. The spring rolls were crunchy. You can't go wrong with deep fried tofu. The texture of the chicken satay was a little mushy but the flavor was good. The dumplings were good too although I really didn't like the wrapper on the rice wrapped dumpling. There were 3 dipping sauces to compliment the appetizers. I had enough leftover to have for dinner the next night.

We've eaten brunch outside before, but this was our first evening trip to this restaurant. I am what they call a gourmand, so it's hard to satisfy me. Nevertheless, the buratta was as good or better than my own at home, with well chosen spices, beautiful creamy middle and a drizzle of a balsamic reduction. My red pepper soup was heavenly, clearly home made, and salmon, which can be overcooked or boring, benefited greatly from cumin, tarragon and other spices. I would recommend this restaurant as a solid, authentic choice to anyone in the neighborhood or even further out.

Paris Baguette

Reviewed By Augusto L - Philadelphia

I´ve been coming to the Paris Baguette of Cheltenham (it´s a franchise) once or twice a month for the past five years, sometimes alone, sometimes with the family. It´s located in a mall that serves mainly the surrounding Korean community.
Mostly I visit PB every time I buy fish from the Korean supermarket right next to it. My favorite pastries are the twisted doughnuts and sticks, sweet and delicious. Their yoghurts and parfaits are superb. I bought once a birthday cake for my son´s, it was beautifully decorated and tasty (and pricey too!). The hot chai and hot horchata are great, creamy, flavory (and yes, tons of calories in them too). There are gourmet sandwhiches in the menu, but I never tried them.
I also like the place because I enjoy its natural pace. Once can take a take and stay for hours (warning: it has no wifi). Some senior Koreans like to congregate during certain times of the day which makes Paris Baguette a human experience as well. I am not Korean nor do I speak the language, but I enjoy being in a place that despite its name and gourmet-like appearance (there are Korean treats in addition to French bread, pastries), it offers (when the background music isn´t too loud) a serene atmosphere mostly lost in translation to me.
