Elgin (/ˈɛlɡɪn/ EL-ghin) is a city in Bastrop and Travis Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 8,135 at the 2010 census. The city is a suburb of Austin, and is part of the Greater Austin metropolitan area. Elgin is also known as the Sausage Capital of Texas and the Brick Capital of the Southwest, due to the presence of three operating brickyards in the mid-20th century (two of which are open to this date).

I've been a repeat customer at Super Donuts for quite a while. They have kolaches, donuts (regular and filled ones, too), gigantic apple fritters, hot coffee, juice, and other beverages. The pastries are spectacular! Yeah!!! A couple of hints, though... they don't take credit or debit cards; also you need to swing by early in order to get the best selection. Every time I go there, it's somewhat busy (even at 7 A.M). There are a few booths if you want to eat there, but I'd say the majority of people get carry out. Super Donuts beats the grocery store bakery hands down.

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Lake Travis because of the TripAdvisor reviews and they did not lie! Their pizza and wings were delicious. I ordered the Flying Garlic pizza and it had loads of roasted cloves of garlic on a butter garlic sauce with chicken and spinach. My husband ordered a meaty pizza and my nephew ordered a bacon cheeseburger and they both thought they were awesome, too. The wings are very meaty, too. Definitely worth a stop in. If we weren't driving on, I would have had a nice craft beer, too. Oh, and they also have natural sodas with no high-fructose corn syrup, etc. Delicious.

Meyers Elgin Smokehouse BBQ and Retail Market is the best of both worlds. Stop by and enjoy some authentic Texas bbq. Or if you have a big shindig you are cooking for, stop at the retail market for some of our famous Elgin sausage our family has been making in Elgin for 4 generations. If you just need a snack for the road, pick up some our mouth watering jerky, summer sausage or dried sausage.

This was our first visit to Meyer's so we were looking forward to enjoying some good BBQ. The lady behind the register wasn't very friendly and we had to repeat out order twice (and we speak Texan :) ) She just wasn't engaged. The BBQ was okay but nothing special. The cole slaw was good but the baked potato could have cooked a little more. They also serve Blue Bell Ice Cream.

With a vast menu for beer and ales, one wouldn't expect this place to score high on cookies. Their cookies, however, are delicious!! My favorite is the Heath Bar cookie. The restaurant also features crafts from area artisans as well as local fresh dairy milk.

The setting is a clean, basic place with lot of ethnic photographs on the wall. The tables and chairs are basic and clean with with stainless steel utensils wrapped in a napkin. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable dressed in t-shirts and pants. The food is little slow out of the kitchen, but plentiful and good taste, however nothing outstanding. Some items on menu one does not see elsewhere. Only critique is that it is pricey for what one gets.

I went here with my daughter and son-in-law. They have fajitas with different flavors/sauces. We ordered three different types and they were all delicious. We all had chicken fajitas and they were cooked just right, moist and very flavorful. Our waitress was not very friendly and either was tired or just had an attitude. We will go back for the food, hopefully the next time we will get a different waitress or maybe she was just having a bad day.

I think the highlight of this restaurant is the wait staff. Our waiter and all other employees were pleasant and thanked us in a positive way for our business. I was very impressed with all of them.
As far as the food goes, it was satisfactory but not great. I had two chicken enchiladas with beans and rice. My wife enjoyed a beef taco salad.
The restaurant is colorful and well decorated and definitely an asset to the community of Elgin. I would return again.

I have lived in Elgin for almost 3yrs before I heard of Superior Burger Bar and I have to say I am so sorry I did not know of it before. My husband and I are always looking for somewhere to eat locally and if you are wanting a mouth watering, made from scratch, home style burger this is your place. I understand this place is family owned and the young lady (the daughter) is the friendliest young lady you would want to meet. Service and food is top notch.
Best burger in the town of Elgin and I have tried them all.
