I booked a stay at this hotel originally for 3 nights. When my family (myself, wife, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old) arrived they informed us the pool was closed and the elevators were out of service. I said that I had little ones and needed a lower floor, but they didn’t have any rooms other than the 3rd floor. Reluctantly we checked in since it was after 10:00 PM (we had driven for 9 hours that day). After lugging 3 days of luggage to the 3rd floor through an unlit and I shoveled entrance we discovered the room was also sub par. The tub had rust and the tub calming had mold. We contacted Hotels.com and they said they would cancel the reservation so we booked another room at another hotel the next day. To my surprise when I checked out the next day they didn’t close our reservation. We were charged for the full 3 days and they informed Hotels.com that we stayed there for 3 days even though we had checked into another hotel with that service. Do not stay at this hotel! I travel over 25 times a year for work and they is by far the worst experience I have ever had.

I called the place and they said we must have broke something, took something or smoked in the room which we did not. Nobody smokes, and we need nothing from a cheap motel room. By the other reviews this looks like a pattern of a real dishonest business.

Nice and clean room, though it was kind of cramped. We were just sleeping there one night so not an issue for us. Brian checked us in late in the evening and was great. We really appreciated his friendliness when checking us in. They had a selection of to-go items available at the desk for breakfast- pop tarts, instant oatmeal, packaged muffin, etc.

Thanks for making my journey to my Dad's funeral this weekend a miserable experienece.

Reviewed By Michael I

Thanks for making my journey to my Dad's funeral this weekend a miserable experienece. After a long car journey from Atlanta, GA we arrived Friday night around 10 pm exhausted. The next morning after breakfast my brother dropped by with two dogs (we did not bring dogs!) and a cleaning lady in the hall started giving us the dickens because dogs were not allowed in the hotel. Ok, fair mistake: the dogs were imediately removed and we left at 10 am Saturday morning for the funeral. After the day's exhausting schedule we returned around 10 pm only to find that our room was not cleaned and found all our dirty towels in a pile on the bathroom floor. When I asked at the front desk why our room was not refreshed, the person there said, "Beacuase you had dogs: you need to see the manager!" When I asked to see the manager she replied, "He won't be in until tomorrow!" I beggef for anybody to go to our room to verify that we had no dogs in the room, nobody would go to our room because we were guily as charges "you had dogs (dogs that somehow disappeared) and you need to see the manager." This experience made the loss of my father even more painful because of the shoddy experience by these Nazi-like yah-hoos!

The English Inn

Occasionally, when you may least expect it, you come across a spot in the world where time seems to have stood still, where graciousness of spirit and personal attention to detail still thrive, where the hustle and bustle of the modern world are shut and the lingering taste of a good Burgundy on your palate is all that matters. The English Inn is just such a place.

Outdoor Dinner During A Pandemic

Reviewed By JPintheD

We celebrated two birthdays at The English Inn in one of their “igloos”. Ours was actually a small greenhouse that worked really well. There were 2 space heaters and we were comfortable even with it being 18 degrees out. Our food server was able to talk to us through the door to maintain social distancing and she wore her mask every time she came in to deliver food or pick-up plates. We had the ribeye, filet and salmon and the food was delicious. The Inn is very quaint and has 6 bedrooms in the main building and 11 cottages that look like they would be very enjoyable during the warmer months. There was a $10 per person fee to secure our reservation.
