Visited Giovannis at 7pm on a Saturday night, seated immediately for our reservation. The food here is exceptional. From the bread service, appetizers, meal and dessert everything was fantastic. Always a special night. Started with pizza, shrimp and sausage appetizers. Moved to soups and salads. Many wonderful meals including eggplant parm, lasagna, fettuccini Alfredo and simple pasta. Finished with tiramisu, cakes, and homemade tiny fried donuts. The homemade sauces and noodles were incredible. Food, service, cleanliness all top notch.

I was visiting Detroit on business and my coworkers took me out here for dinner on a Friday night. We arrived around 7:30 and it was quite busy. There were 9 of us so we ended up waiting on a table for at least 45 minutes. Once seated, the service was great! We ordered 3 large pizzas (cheese, pepperoni and the special) and gobbled it all down. The crust was really thin (just the way I like it) and had great flavor. The pizza also didn't have a lot of sauce on it either, which is also great in my opinion. They also offer a limited beer and wine selection. This is hands down some of the best pizza I've had in my life. If I lived in Detroit, I'd come frequently!

The decor is perfect- wood tables, vibrant green walls and good paintings. Very friendly, excellent staff. Our cocktails were delicious- Orange Fedora, which consisted of bourbon and fresh orange and lemon juice.

The meals were great as well. Our group had braised short ribs, seared scallops, and the pheasant entree. Beautiful presentation, very good food.

There now this is a very layed back resort ideal for young families. There with 3 generations the youngest 8 the oldest 70. All the restaurants have things for the young folk they are very accommodating with special requests to satisfy your tastes. The staff are very gracious always asking how is everything if you have a problem they do get back with you. If you go to there website most of your questions are answered if not they have a eight hundred number to call. I book this back in oct. last year an Had them charge my credit card equal amount so it was paid for in advance. This was cheaper then the travel sites. Would recommend doing this with credit card that includes travel coverage. Would recommend doing the all-inclusive. I have been diving with Divestluica that pick up at the hotel great shop check them out on the web.

The pizza was okay at best, especially for the price. $185 for 8 people to eat is waaaaay too steep for a pizza place. The waitstaff was unreliable. We asked for water multiple times and but didn't get it. It took 3 hours for us to get our food and pay the check. We were finished but the waitress was nowhere to be found.

We sat at the bar, only 6 people to serve. I'm not hard to please and am very understanding of All Servers. But this fella was terrible. From 'correcting' MY memory of Detroit ( I grew up on 8 mile and my family ran a grocery store there for 50+ years, through the riots of 1967), I am a proud Wayne State Alumni, ( I graduated over 30 years ago ), I know Detroit well and am proud of it's resurgence.

While most servers were busy filling water glasses or coffee, ours was busy singing to the music and chatting with other employees. His bandanna neatly folded under his long pretty braids wrapped around his head to catch 'no sweat', was a sharp contrast to 90 % of the other employees....who were clearly very very busy.

I asked for cream for my coffee 3x, asked for ketsup 3x, and finally gave up, my husband asked for water several times, he gave up and I gave him mine. It was a terrible experience. They were not overly busy...but our bar server was a tool and cool ignored us but knew most of the words to the 90s hits....

Salmon salad was very very good. Fries with truffle oil mayo were incredible.

Unfortunately, we will not go back...it was that bad of an experience.

Great spot in downtown Detroit! After enjoying wine and meats and cheese elsewhere, we headed to Wright & Co. for the second part of our evening. Although the restaurant was very busy, a two-top was available immediately. We loved the space and vibe--industrial space with cool views of the street, a super-long bar, and a busy atmosphere. The patrons were diverse, chic, and having a great time.

Our server joined us right away and offered a few of the menu, which is a small plates concept. I appreciated that she noted that they were pretty large small plates, which helped us order correctly. Our server also really knew the cocktail list. She had a wry wit and was very funny.

Cocktails were awesome!; there's some seriously great craft cocktail stuff going on here. "The Misunderstood Genius" was boozy wonderfulness; the sherry added a wonderful odor and rounded out the flavor. "Another Perfect Day" had great frothiness from the egg white and perfect citrus notes.

Food was also delicious. The wild mushroom arancini with braised leeks was delicious; you actually tasted the mushrooms rather than just the batter and oil. The roasted vegetable salad was memorably good; the vegetables had wonderful sweetness from the roasting, the tanginess from the yogurt balanced the sweetness well, and the crisp chickpeas added great texture.

Highly recommended.

Up front, my family has eaten here since before my mom and dad were dating. Demo served them on one of their first dates, He also served my grandparents on both sides, my brother and sister and me and my daughter. If you don't know or haven't heard of Demo... ask someone. The place has changed a bit. Some things haven't changed at all.Check out the register in the middle of the work island. The dogs still snap when you bite them, The chili is still some of the best around. I've eaten at other coney places in the state. THERE IS NOTHING better than a LAFAYETTE CONEY!

Mudgie's

So we eat Mudgie's on special occasions here at work. Today, I just wanted Mudgie's... no special reason. I ordered the Gutty which is normally a really bomb sandwich but it was a little off. It felt like more fat than meat on the corned beef... So, I picked through, but was pretty disappointed.

Well, I called just to let the kitchen know so maybe they can be sure to not get that cut of beef anymore or whatever, idk how it works. And Shane answered, super concerned and asked me to please hold. On the line comes Maggie the Manager! Sweet as pie, she'd actually picked up the line before she'd realized it. It was then, when she didn't even know I was listening, that made the difference. She was talking over my concerns with Shane and she was genuine and apologetic. So of course, once she gets on with me, she couldn't have been more pleasant. I explained my disappointment and how unusual it was and she promised to speak to the kitchen about it and in the meantime wanted to know if she could personally deliver me a replacement. WOW! Talk about great customer service. This is the manager, who doesn't normally make deliveries, coming to bring me a sandwich because I found the beef too fatty! AMAZING. Consider my day made and yourself lucky if you get to try their delicious food served with a side of AWESOME SAUCE(SERVICE)!
