We visited Sushi Yama last week in the early evening. Plenty of seating was available. Atmosphere was quiet and pleasant New Age music was playing.My wife and I chose the Hari Bento Box dinners which came with a plain lettuce salad and miso soup. Service was good. The food assortment in the box dinners was nice, but I've had better Teriyaki chicken ( it was over cooked) and sushi elsewhere. The tempura was good and so was the shumai. Wine selections were inexpensive and decent. For an inexpensive meal, it was ok, but not exciting.

The restaurant is spacious. The menu is varied, you can have many combinations for the traditional teppanyaki. Meat, scallops, chicken and vegetables with the fried rice. The show is the entertainment apart, tricks with the fire, with vegetable chops and "shooting" sake into the mouth. The food is normal, quite a good portion. The staff do play to their abilities.

My wife and I drove my daughter back to Washington College from Boston after the holiday break and we spent the night in Middletown DE. We've been here before and we needed a new place to eat. I checked out the new places on Trip Advisor and came across an interesting entry: Ohama Japanese Restaurant The only review stated "By far one of the best Sushi restaurants in the country!". We've had sushi from LA to New York and we think we know good sushi so this review almost tripped my bull crap filter, but we gave it a try anyway. Obviously a family run establishment. Service was excellent. The Miso soup was outstanding. The Beef Yukke (Japanese version of Steak tartare) was excellent. And, the sushi was very good. All three of us would recommend this restaurant. I would recommend the owners consider a remodel of the men's restroom. It's the only thing that detracted from a very nice experience.
