We went to this restaurant as a group of 20 colleagues, and the owner was incredibly welcoming and funny, offering us complimentary drinks and desserts... The food is terribly good, especially the sea bass, the salmon and the seafood spaghetti and the moussaka! We'll definitely come back if we're back in Crete!

We had lunch here after visiting the excellent archaeological museum (just round the corner). Food was tasty and prices ok but service was lacking as they upset us - hence this review to express our dissatisfaction. We were promised weâd be looked after by the front of house salesman (usual patter of course) but after our meal, whilst all the tables around us (who had sent cigarette smoke in our direction - a real problem in Crete) got free cake and raki (as the traditional end of meal offering) we did not and waiting a while didnât solve this either. Shame because the cake looked nice! So by all means go but prepared to be treated as âless equalâ if you are the unlucky ones.

Where the trendy locals go for steaksWe asked several locals what is to the top resturant in Heraklion these days and they all answered Kouzeineri.Classy design, top quality meat but a little to posh for my style. They offer a broad menu, but I did the mistake of ordering a shrimp risotto in a meat eatery.... so that mistake is on me. The halloumi cheese starter was creative and tasty but my risotto was to salty. My friends ribs was great, but based on the high prices and the risotto I give it only 3 stars this timeTip: I recommend to dress up a little if you go here, since the local guests are so posh looking

Make sure you try the food @ this gem of a place....tasty food and incredible value for money! We got takeout and went back to our lovely hotel and then went back a second time, it was so good! The staff are friendly and helpful too.
