Cordoba Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Cordoba

August 15, 2017 Sheron Bogner

Córdoba was once the premier city of the Western World, the greatest metropolis west of Constantinople, and the seat of Europe’s first university. Today, there’s a modern commercial center, but most travelers love strolling the town’s ancient cobblestone streets, peeking through gates for glimpses of lush flowers and beautiful tiled fountains.

An incredible lunch experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. My wife and I were warmly greeted by presumably the owner (very welcoming man), and taken to the nicely-appointed dining room in the rear of the restaurant. He realized my Spanish was quite limited, so he provided us English menus, and then patiently explained each of his recommended dishes, and he suggested we share these. We chose 3 of his suggested dishes. The first course was berenjenes (fried zucchini) -- truly wonderful, particularly with the honey syrup. The 2nd dish was [something?.. Arana] (fried white fish), also great. The third dish was Rabos de Toro (ox-tail) -- this too was tremendous, being so flavorful, with much meat and tender. The bottle of Rioja was excellent as well. The meal concluded with complimentary small sweet pastry and liquors. The final bill for these items, and the bread and 2-bottles of Perrier came to 54 euros. Service throughout was extremely attentive. We highly recommend Taberna San Cristobal.

Probably the best gazpacho I had during my Andalusian trip, but in general everything was prepared gently and with love. And incredibly tasty! The owner is a very friendly person. The service is impeccable and the quality of the food is very high, a bit pricy bit acceptable as long as you stick to the menu. They offer daily specials that are not on the menu though, they sound great but turn out to be more expensive than you could expect so they become bad news at the end of the meal.

Finally someone communicated in english! We were greated properly and was taken care of in a friendly non-intrusive style. The food was fresh and very tasty. The spicy salsa was indeed spicy and the coconut salsa was a lovely twist! Just a little gem this, hid away in an back alley. Well worth the look for and its high ranking on Tripadvisor.

Whatever brings you to Cordoba, go to this restaurant. Wonderfully friendly staff, absolutely outstanding value for money, a theatrical performance and exquisite food presenting with imagination and style. We had the twelve course tasting menu with a 6 wine flight. Each course was exciting to taste and we enjoyed the anticipation of how each course would be presented. Exceptional. Worth going back to Cordoba - and its a long way for us!!

We had a truly delicious dinner at La Cuarta just last week. The food was presented well and extremely tasty. Our waiter, Sami, was attentive and helped make for a memorable dinner experience. And when dinner is over, don't forget to walk across the plaza and check out the Roman Temple ruins. Cordoba is an amazing city, and dinner at La Cuarta was a great addition.

total disappointment, we went to this restaurant on the recommendation of some friends, it is true that we went without reservation and there was no place, but we agreed with the waitress to wait for a free table with a beer (for her face it seemed that she didn't like the idea at all) , we waited for an hour or more watching how people who had arrived after us were served before , just for the reason of being 4 instead of 2, but that's not all, I found the quality / price excessive, small plates, big prices, really expensive for what It was. I did not like it very much
