Capital Dial-A-Pizza

We ordered a regular size pizza (more than enough for two adults) on the phone, picked it up while we were crossing Cooma. Great service. The (veggie) pizza was very good with a crispy thin dough and lots of toppings. Will order again next time.

This little cafe bakes and sells pies, cakes and top quality French style patisserie. You can eat in and enjoy a tea and a delicious sweet treat. Out of the ordinary for a small country town

Love the roaring log fire and the decor of this dining room. Art Deco in design and great to see it has been preserved. Lovely fresh white cotton table cloths/serviettes. Food very good standard pub menu. Reasonably priced.

Pha's Thai Kitchen

Reviewed By Bruce F - Dapto, Australia

Pha's Thai Kitchen is upstairs, and not open Monday nights. At the top of the stairs there is a red door, but don't go in: it's the kitchen! Turn left past the toilets (one door wide open when we arrived, and both wide open when we left!! Not good.) and go in the other unmarked door for the restaurant. Service started well, but then one waitress spent almost all her time chatting to one couple, so the service to other customers went way down. The Pad Thai was very good, and certainly a big meal to eat completely. The Chicken Stir-Fry became a "find the chicken" game, as there were only about half a dozen coin-sized bits. Very inadequate. The wine list (by the glass) was quite restricted.
We won't be going back to this restaurant if we visit Cooma again.

Miss Heidi's Tea House

Heidi's Tea House is a cosy Austrian/German Tea house set in the hills of the snowy region with fantastic views. The Tea House itself is a hand built log cabin that was built 45 years ago by the current owners. Inside you will find an open wood fireplace to warm yourself on those cold winter days and a quaint decor featuring German knick-knacks and beautiful paintings of the Alps. The menu is filled with traditional Austrian/German meals such as Veal Schnitzel, Apple Strudel and of course our famous Pancakes. If you are lucky you might even get to feed the local wildlife.

Arrived in Cooma mid morning and had breakfast here. The place was packed which is a good sign. Had a bacon and egg roll and a melt - both were excellent and cooked to order.
Then had two of the best coffees we have had for ages.
We found ourselves returning through Cooma around 2pm so we went back for lunch. We shared a wonderful roast vegetable salad and a freshly squeezed juice.
Staff are attentive and friendly. The prices are very reasonable: the bacon and egg roll was around $7 and the salad around $10.
We wish it was our local.
Recommended if you are travelling through Cooma and looking for coffee and a bite to eat.

Grand Court Chinese Restaurant

Reviewed By Trina C - Snowy Mountains, Australia

Ordered takeaway from the restaurant mid week and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and beautiful taste of the food. We had Mongolian Beef and Mild Green Curry Chicken, Special fried rice and a few other nibblies..
All the food was absolutely delicious, fresh and very tasty. Will definitely eat there when next in Cooma. Highly recommended to those who have discerning taste for a broad range of Asian food or who just want a great value meal. The serves were very generous in size as well as meat portions of the meal (where others try to skimp, Grand Court holds it own offering a great ratio of meat to sauce) There is clearly great pride taken by the chefs in the way they prepare their food. From the minute I walked in the door I felt welcomed - lovely lovely people.
