This was our first visit and, after reading and hearing good things about the restaurant, we were glad we chose to have a late lunch here. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Our food, three pieces of catfish with two sides, came quickly and was very good. We were amazed at how large the portions were for our sides. And we liked that the delicious batter wasn't too thick, so it didn't overwhelm the taste of the fish. A nice lunch for two, including drinks, under $20 - Great!

We are almost regulars as we eat here about every month or so. The food is great. We especially recommend the bacon fried oysters, the fillet migon pizza, the Ceasar salad, the pistachio crusted chicken, the grilled chicken sandwich, the French onion soup, and the burgers. The beer menu is ok, but unfortunately most micro brews are now into making fruity junk for the Millennials instead of brewing proper beer and ale, so the selection of real beers is limited. That is the good. Consistent great food.
Now the not so good. The two waiters for the 15 or so tables were stretched thin and running as fast as two people could, but it still took much too long to get our drinks and dinner. Now the 3 bar staff were almost useless. The two females were more interested in visiting with customers than working. Then one of them had a loud drama episode while giving directions to a customer. The male bartender spent 25 minutes unpacking 4 boxes of wine and then breaking down the boxes. Of course, he took a break about half way into these difficult task to drink a sample glass of beer and walk around. I guess good help is hard to get now.
In summary, good food and atmosphere. Just don’t be in a hurry, or hungry, as it will take over an hour to get your meal.

The Pappas Family knows how to run a restaurant. Their take on a Cajun is good and this location is a good example. Good food, friendly service in a clean environment is always a winner. Recommended.

This is the best barbecue in Conroe. Their ribs are especially delicious. Food is always of the upmost quality. Their hamburgers are very good. They recently started serving Breakfast. Best breakfast deal in town. I usually eat at the Montgomery location, but have eaten at both. Love this place.

All of us ladies love to meet here for our birthday lunches! So much to choose from and always delicious. We love the soup and salad or soup and half sandwich offers. Plenty of food at reasonable prices. The chicken tortilla soup is da bomb!

Vero Italian Kitchen offers a good variety of excellent Italian dishes, with the Chicken parmigiana one of my favorites, along with their Caesar Salad. The Caesar Salad with grilled chicken is also excellent, which is what my wife had. We shared a pizza with our son (he ate most of it, but I got a piece too), which was good but the crust was too thin, making it difficult to pick up the pizza. The bread that comes with the chicken parmigiana is outstanding, and worth the trip to Vero Italian Kitchen itself. The format is a bit different, as you order at the counter when you enter the restaurant, then get your own drinks and sit down while the food is prepared, but the restaurant is comfortable and the food is delicious, so it's worth a visit.

Very few restaurants can bring me a steak cooked correctly on the first try, and I am not even hard to cook for just medium rare. This place brings my steak out correct first time everytime.

Go early because this place is always packed. Great food, super owner, friendly staff. Only negative is that its too small and too hot when crowded -- needs to expand. Try the Eggs Benedict to die for!
