We are located in the sleepy village of Cocachimba in the Bongará waterfall valley, in Amazonas Region in northern Perú.

Reviewed By Jan lEstabamos planeando el viaje para Chachapoyas con mi hermano, y vimos este hospedaje para poder quedarnos. Las veces que hemos viajado con mi hermano sabemos que los hoteles trabajan 24hrs , llamamos alrededor de las 10 pm para realizar la reserva. y fue una tremenda desilución escuchar a un dueño o empleado decirme ¿Es un poco tarde para que llame, no? y pasó a colgar. Una pena, soy hotelera de profesión y aún he tenido clientes que me llaman a recepción a las 3 am les voy a hablar de esa manera. Definitivamente, sacan la peor cara del hospedaje. No dudo de las grandes instalaciones pero la actitud de su personal vale más , en fin una decepción.

Reviewed By mariabenito15During the pandemic Rafael has added an extra floor to the albergue. When we arrived at the entrance the place didn't look so great because they haven't been able to maintain the garden during the pandemic. But the other side of the hotel is simply amazing : it has the best view of the waterfalls. All the rooms have a terrace that looks out onto the falls. There is also an extremely nice and comfy terrace/breakfast room where you can also stay in the evenings (and play on Rafael's guitar). Tastily furnished with local artesania. Comfort of the rooms is 100% (maybe add an extra reading bedside light ?). Great breakfast. Great advice for tours and walks. Internet not extremely strong but still OK. Unfortunately during the pandemic they do not serve food in the evenings.

Great Location, Lovely Staff and Great Café
Reviewed By bellevued1I travelled with a friend and we both really enjoyed this place. We had room number 8 with a view to the Gocta Waterfall and starry sky at nights. We really enjoyed the breakfast (included in the very reasonable price of the hospedaje - especially compared to the neighbouring overpriced Gocta Lodge) which were varied every day and the evenings spent in the café which forms a part of the hospedaje where you can get, among else, amazing cheesecakes, top-quality coffee and really good liquors (we did taste them all)! Kevin, the receptionist, was always helpful and kind and sharing his good vibes, and Eusebio, the owner had wonderful stories to share about Cocachimba and his ancestors and the treks int he area. The location of the place is great, as you are in a calm area but right by the path where beginns the trek to the Gocta (and other) waterfalls. To get to Cocachimba from Chachapoyas, take a colectivo (10 soles per person) and then a moto taxi (15 soles for two). Thank you for everything, Eusebio and Kevin, bendiciones.

Reviewed By Claudia CEl lugar es increíble. La habitación tiene una vista directa a la Catarata Gota, que te permite escuchar el sonido de la caída. Además, si decides conocer la Catarata, el inicio del recorrido está súper cerca del Lodge, todo se puede hacer caminando. El lugar cuida hasta el mínimo detalle, es limpio, ordenado, y moderno y sobre todo el trato súper amable.

Reviewed By mariabenito15We stayed at another hotel that did not serve food due to the pandemic. So we had dinner at Balcon de Gocta. It was a very good surprise : the friendly lady cooked fresh food for us, including vegetarian options, nicely seasoned with herbs, with salad on the side, and everything tasted nice and fresh. High quality food for the price of basic "arroz con pollo" !
