We enjoyed lunch at this BBQ restaurant. The pork was tender and the ribs were fall off the bone. The atmosphere was basic, but clean. The service was very kind, and very concerned about making sure my son, who has allergies, was well taken care of.

As full time travelers volunteering for the NPS, we travel all over this country. That said, it means we are not rookies at the restaurant business....we found Thatchers (formally known at Crystal Springs BarBQue and Grill) just because it was so close to where we are currently at Chickamauga NMB and highly rated on Trip Advisor. I don’t give 5’s our lightly, but everything and I mean everything from the brisket to the sweet potato tater tots was fabulous! And the fried pickles....I am an expert here on this food, next to Blake’s fried pickles at the Fireside in Ellison Bay, WI these are the 2nd best I have ever had! We would come back ever week but our cardiologist and weight scale would be really pissed....hhhmmmmm. Might be worth it;-)

This is really a go-to place if you are in the area. The view is great...absolutely beautiful. AND, if the weather is good, there is a picnic table or two and some assorted chairs scattered about the lawn for your enjoyment.

The food is delicious but you need to be patient. There are only two servers and a house full of patrons... and I have no idea who is in the kitchen but everything is made from scratch and takes some time. So... don't be in a rush.

We had the BBQ ribs which were succulent and falling off the bones. The price is reasonable for what you get. The cold slaw is very nice and so are the fries. This place also has beer and possibly other alcoholic drinks in addition to the usual fare.

In case you are headed home after lunch, get yourself a pound or two of freshly ground pasture raised beef and some homemade breakfast pork sausage. Both these items are delicious and reasonably priced.

Finally, there's a bit of a gift shop to this very interesting house of food. Get your T-shirt or hat here, a copy of a wildflower book (you are right near Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail) and a few other things of interest.

In summary - this is a really great place to experience good food and a beautiful view in a very relaxed atmosphere.

We wandered around town for about 15 minutes and found this restaurant. The service was excellent and quick, food was delicious and we will be back. We had taken a train ride to town and had about 1.5 hours for lunch and shopping. The meal and atmosphere was so pleasant we gave up shopping.

Southern Cooking is not my thing generally. Ok... my wife pushed me on this one. Pleasantly surprised, even delighted. We got started with warm corn bread and butter with sweet rolls. Fried okra, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, Cole slaw all delicious! I got the grilled chicken and she got fried chicken. Also well
Seasoned and tasty. Would southern Cooking be my first choice in the future?? No but this was well worth the true southern Cooking experience in a genuine mom and pop environment with southern hospitality.

They have, along with their other location in Ringgold, GA, in my opinion, the best BBQ in Chattanooga. It's always top notch! And, I don't know how they do it but their BBQ doesn't have that smokey after-taste usually associated with BBQ. This location is in historic downtown Chickamauga, GA and across from the old Shop-Rite grocery store. Weather it's a shovel or bucket either selection will be plenty for a person to eat in a single sitting. The dining room here is bigger than their Ringgold location. Great food!

Lovely evening for a convertible ride to this out of the way dining destination. The lovo processco was served in a bucket of ice and was crisp and clean. The appetizers were served promptly . We had fried green tomatoes, goat cheese mushroom strudel and jalapeño fries shared amongst 4 . Generous portions and all Very good. Our server was excellent . The tables are spaced far enough apart so you can enjoy private conversation. The Dover sole was light and perfectly prepare as was the evening special pasta dish. We will definitely be returning it was just Great

Ran in for lunch takeout. Ordered the Mongolian Beef and egg drop soup. Ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken for a friend. The Mongolian beef was more onions than anything and very little beef. The soup was plain but pretty good. My friend said her chicken was a bit "done". I was disappointed. While waiting I did notice that the place was clean and every leg on every booth was rusted from the floor to halfway up, like they had been in a flood. I may never eat here again but it was $6 so I got what I paid for.

Clean restaurant with attentive staff and fast service. Chips and dip taste like they're from a restaurant supply company...ok. The beef chimichanga was very good, and the white cheese sauce was the best I've had. The rice and beans are like what you would get at any other Mexican restaurant. Lunch specials are in the $5-7 range and arrives before you finish your salsa.
