The population in 2011 was 828 for the village and 854 for the community, which includes the village Frama. Its elevation is 10 m. Nea Skioni is located 7 km southwest of Chaniotis, 7 km west of Agia Paraskevi and 90 km southeast of Thessaloniki. It is named after the ancient city of Scione, whose site was nearby to the east.

You'd be fooled into thinking Elia is Nea Skioni's only restaurant, judging by its great location - it is the first tavern you run into while visiting, and it's far enough from the town center to make you want to stop there.The food is amazing - the grilled halloumi is cooked to perfection, as is the occasional lamb roast and the never ending offer of fish dishes. Salads are also found, but I'd be a fool to encourage you to try them over the fish.Elia's crown jewel is its service. Lightning fast, very accommodating with everything from special diets to baby seating. Those guys deserve a medal for handling our 30+ people table for 4 nights in a row. Kudos!I'm rating it 4/5 because, despite its overview of the sea, the place itself isn't easy on the eyes. It seems a bit trapped in early 90's. Also, avoid their "house" wine and go for a bottle from their shelf selection. Overall a great experience, with only minor inconveniences. Great for a taste of authentic Greece!

We had heard good things about this place so decided to try it first impression was very good we were met by very friendly staff and I must say our food was very good however as more local customers came in it became harder to attract the waiters attention also our water was forgotten but it was still added to the bill In all a good meal but wonât be returning!!!We are very sorry for our mistake from our waiter which hi didnât bring the water and hi never told as also to takeout of the bill ,we wish u a good winter and again very sorry

The view is definitely the highlight of this place.The food is good but not the best I had in the area.The service is ok but slow.Book in advance as otherwise the staff might sit you at a table with no view saying that everything else is reserved while all tables will stay empty all evening...

Having lumch today at this restaurant at we remained positively surprised.actually in TripAdvisor says that is closed at midday but was open.very friendly staff and perfectly tasty food.

In 2018 it was definitely the best restaurant in the area...by far! Exquisite cuisine in taste and presentation. This year unfortunately the chef has changed. Tastes are ok but not exquisite, presentation is average, portions are smaller and prices higher! Pity... Nothing more to say..The places still looks nice but the sea had moved away the sand...

From what we ve seen on TripAdvisor we went to this beach side restaurant. Well the waiters are nice and pro but the food is not that great. Actually it was the worst dinner we had on that holiday.And way more expensive than other places.... won t come back.
