Central Argentina, Argentina Food Guide: 10 South American food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Province of Buenos Aires

Reviews on South American food in Province of Buenos Aires, Central Argentina, Argentina. Buenos Aires (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbwenos ˈaiɾes], Provincia de Buenos Aires; English: "good airs") is the largest and most populous Argentinian province. It takes the name from the city of Buenos Aires, which used to be part of the province and the provincial capital until it was federalized in 1880. Since then, in spite of bearing the same name, the province does not include the national capital city proper, though it does include all other localities of the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area surrounding it. The current capital of the province is the city of La Plata, founded in 1882.

Great surprise! Very nice ambiance, superb service, absolutely great wine selection a very good food.Arrived for a Saturday family dinner, even restaurant wasn't full (at that time) not having reservation jeopardize our night. Thankfully they were able to manage a table for 7 of us in the underground area. Wine selection is great, my favorite winery was available, so a Primogénito Malbec from Petritti fast arrived to the table. The octopus carpaccio is extremely recommended, onion cream soup, "osobuco", and pasta Caribineri are all recommended. The volcano dessert and the frittata were very nice complement. With the tab a courtesy limoncello was offered and appreciated. We overheard that some weekend days they have a live tenor show!An absolutely recommended restaurant!

My husband and I dined at Peperoncino, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The restaurant, located inside a converted house, offered a cozy and charming atmosphere. Our friendly and attentive waitress brought our food to us in a timely manner. All of the dishes were nicely presented and very flavorful. Generous portions ensured that we left with full bellies. ¡Panza llena, corazón contento! We're already planning to go back!

Granja El Calvario

As its name suggests, the Granja is just down the street from El Calvario, which makes it very easy to reach by taking the micro (city bus). It actually is more a store than a restaurant. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and allowed me to sample more than a dozen cheeses, salamis, and hams, so that I could choose the ones that I preferred. My first day in Tandil, I bought several items for a picnic in the park. On my last day, I went back, because I wanted a "picada" for the trip home, but the only picadas that they had were far too large for one person. So the owner offered to slice some cheeses, salamis, and hams and make up a "to go" package for me of my favorite items. The entire cost of the "to go" package in February 2019 (including a medium loaf of bread) was 153 Argentine pesos (less than 4 US dollars) and was enough for three meals (one that afternoon, one on the bus back to Buenos Aires, and one for the next day). During my time in Tandil, I had a picada at another restaurant in Buenos Aires that was twice as expensive and much lower quality than the package Granja El Calvario made for me. If I am ever able to visit Tandil again, Granja El Calvario will be on my list of places to return.

Noi Restaurante

Reviewed By Carina H

We visited this restaurant on several occassions with family and friends during Dec-Jan. It's located inside Almarena Hotel although it has its own entrance. It is hands down the most beautiful place in Costa del Este for dining. Food is of a very good quality and fresh ingredients, small but good menu with several choices even for me, a quite picky eater. Prices are good, credit cards accepted.Design is very modern and stylish.Last but not least, staff were all very friendly and accomodating, especially the hostess, who went out of her way to always find a table even without reservation and a full house. Unfortunately I didn't get her name or the cheff's, which I would like to have mentioned here.We spent new years eve here, too. Jazz band during dinner & very good menu and wines. Also good party music later to enjoy in the terrace after midnight or dance for a bit of fun.All in all I highly recommend this place, looking forward to return.Loved the carrot dip!¡Hola, Carina! How are you? In the first place, we want to thank both you and your family for choosing us on several occassions. We care about our customers' experiences above all things and that is why your words mean a lot to us. We are glad to know you enjoyed our dishes and that you consider Noi the best place in Costa del Este.Your point of view about the service we offer fills the whole staff with pride not only because we consider it fundamental fact in every restaurant but also because we work hard every day to make Noi possible.Regarding to the New Year's event, it was a real pleasure for us to enjoy this unique moment with you. Thank you for sharing your experience. Greetings from the staff!

Great steak, good service. We didn’t book so had to stand in a queue to get in (so would advise you to book). We were lucky and accidentally arrived earlier and were high up in the queue which grew very quickly. Nice touch as those waiting were given a glass of champagne as you wait!!! Don’t over order one of the bigger steaks would easily feed 2.

This was worth every dollar/peso and then some. 5 courses with 5 wine pairings with pretty damn good food for about $70 USD was a good deal especially given how liberally they pour the wine. Also, my NY Strip was so damn good and fresh that I didn’t add anything to it. No salt. No sauce. Nada. I just enjoyed it as is. Also, Slylvenia who was in charge of the asado could not have been nicer or more welcoming. What a fantastic experience. I just wish the asado went on for longer. Do it. This is worth it and then some. Thank you so much for your rescomendation S8284BMjamesaIt's great to know that our customers really enjoy our Asado, as much as we do!You will always be welcome to enjoy our tradition together, best regards from the hole Team!!

So I went pass the store and ended up chit chatting with the guy working there. Apparently it is a family business - which is always a good quality signal. Anyway - inside the store I had the feeling of wanting to try a bit of everything! Just a tiny bit. It all look very delicious and the store it self was very tidy and cosy! Would definitely get a lot of stuff there on a weekly basis if I lived nearby.. which I don't.. unfortunately. Abrazo!Thank you very much for your opinion, we hope to see you.

The outcoming is excellent: the best italian pasta I've ever tried. Please, attend to the owner's advice on meal, because he will guide you about the best options available for you that day. Little tip: don´t miss the tiramisù! > Thank you; Ernesto!

Dinner with friends, three couples. Reservation made, worked ok. Environment is very nice, modern design, lots of light. Not very spacious, hope they do not get tempted to increase number of tables in the reduced space. Service was very good and dedicated. Ordered fish with vegetables, which was very good. Dessert (tiramisu) was really good. Suggest to consider the outdoor seating whenever weather allows.
