We had lunch here. My friends had very traditional Swiss dish: Cervelat Salad ( a kind of Swisssausage) and I had Veal cultlet with noodles and vegetables. My friends were all very satisfied with their order. It was nicely presented. Mine was tasteful and the vegetables are just cooked right, not too soft, not too hard. The service was friendly. In addition we were blessed with a beautiful mountain view. It couldn't be better. I took a look at the restaurant inside, the country atmosphere also appeals to me, wooden furnitures, very clean and comfortable. Would definitely reommend it to a friend.

In der letzten Woche kamen wir hier auf einer Wanderung vorbei und waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt erstens hungrig und zweitens durstig.Ich, als Eisenbahn-Fan sah diese ulkige Einkehrmöglichkeit schon von weitem.Um einen abgestellten, uralten Triebwagen der Appenzeller Bahnen war ein AuÃenbereich mit vielen Bänken und Tischen errichtet.Im Führerstand des Triebwagens hatte der Betreiber dieser Location seinen Ausgabestand für die Getränke, die man sich dort nach Bezahlen dann selbst an die Tische holen muss.Es gibt auch einige Kleinigkeiten zum Essen, wie z.B. Siedwurst mit Salat oder ein Vesperbrett mit Käse und Schinken.Der Platz erfüllt voll und ganz, was man dort erwartet, nette Athmosphäre, ein netter Plausch mit dem Betreiber, Kleinigkeiten zum Essen und zum Trinken.Ja was will man denn auf einer solchen Wanderung noch mehr.Die aufgerufenen Preise für die kleine Auswahl halte ich allerdings auch für schweizerische Verhältnisse für ziemlich heftig.Eine Einkehr kann ich empfehlen. bdzons

It was probably just a thermostat malfunctioning, but there was definitely an over-heating problem at Anker on the evening we dined there. Almost every diner was perspiring, despite having removed jackets or sweaters. Not quite dripping. But enough discomfort to reduce an otherwise 5-star rating to only 4-stars.Apart from the heating malfunction, our experience mirrored that of other reviewers. Everything -- ambience, service, quality of ingredients, cooking skill and presentation -- was as near perfect as we could imagine. Delicious Venison Saltimbocca; a big, tasty Steak Tartare; good local beer and fine Rioja wine; plus a couple of bottles of water. A little expensive, perhaps, at 108 Swiss Francs, but not outrageous in relation to the exceptional quality of this restaurant.We would have stayed to eat more. But the heat problem diminished our appetites as well as our enjoyment.
