Canazei (Ladin: Cianacèi, German: Kanzenei, Kanetschei or Kanascheid) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located in the upper part of the Val di Fassa, about 110 kilometres (68 mi) northeast of Trento. Its name derives from the Latin word cannicetus (cane thicket).

Don’t know why but the food was bad and the main thing was the service. Unhospitable staff. Overpriced food but at least must be good service. Noooo. The ribs very so dry, ravioli like unfrozen. But again such stone faces haven’t seen for a while...

Dishes are prepared with finesse and to a very high standard. Different spices and herbs are mixed to formulate great tastes and different flavours! Service was amazing. Restaurant atmosphere is also pleasing. Appetizers were amazing, just found the main dishes a bit salty. Great selection of wines and spirits!

We drove to Campitello from Canazei as TA indicated this pasticceria as the most genuine one in Val di Fassa. At 7PM, the place was packed with ski tourists, but it gets more comfortable later on. They serve amazingly thick hot cholocate and great cakes. Recommended.

the place is booming and staff is working hard. We enjoyedvery much the well prepared carpaccio, the insalata mista, the spare ribs, filetto porcini, the semi freddo and sorbetto.
However staff is so efficient that they forget the basics...make real contact with their guests...do no serve main course while orhers have their starters because when others have their main course 1 is bored. Do no remove a plate the moment you are done while the others still eat.
In short...the restaurant is nice, is the food is excellent..service very efficient, the experience ok.

The restaurant is well worth the short walk up the hill from the bottom of the Pradel Rodella ski lift.
The staff are extremely welcoming and the restaurant is cosy and very pretty inside. Outside would have been a great spot if the sun had been shining!
There's a good menu and everything that we had was very tasty - I really enjoyed the papardelle and the glasses of Prosecco and home-made berry grappa finished off our meal beautifully!

Nice, simple place, would say overrated. Food, the pasta with deer for 12 euro were okay, apfel strudel so and so ...nothing I would come back for. Not worth a second visit. There are much better restaurants in Canazei.non si può piacere a tutti! grazie della visita!by Paolino

This restaurant came highly recommended and did not disappoint at all. The service from the owner was warm and inviting and we felt as if we were being entertained at home. The food was wholesome and thoroughly delicious and a welcome break from the tourist fare in this ski Mecca. I would thoroughly recommend the duck ragout pasta. Out of this world as was the home made tiramisu for dessert. You need to book as the space is certainly ‘mini’.

We stopped for a coffee and hot chocolate. Though the place is beautiful, the prices were the highest we have encountered in the Dolomites, with a hot chocolate at 3.80 euros and not particularly nice. Also, the staff was rather unfriendly. We had a krapfen from the lady that was selling outside, which was very good, but we won't be going back to this rifugio.

It's a very simple place just on the main road near the bridge in the center of Canazei. So, you could buy just sausages in different formats, but it's extremely fast, cheap and tasty.
