Wow ..wonderful down home type atmosphere.. quaint environment ..delicious food . Went for a friends birthday w a large group of loud women and sat upstairs...sweet old house w parking amongst the forest.patio and indoor seating. Server peter was excellent. Kind and so accommodating to our group.. we had salads e fresh general, tried a poblano Mac and cheese and several people tried ago over veggies or New York steak w potatoes.. meat balls also wonderful. I had a prawn appetizer as a main dish and the butter garlic white wine sauce was wonderful. Love to come back here. Was a tad hot upstairs , lower ceilings ..but over all the atmosphere and the tasty hand prepared meals made for a wonderful evening ..thank you so much

After an early afternoon of snowshoeing at Donner Memorial State Park in Truckee, we decided on having a sit down meal in Tahoe City, about 30 minutes away. Having knowledge of restaurants down by the waterfront of Lake Tahoe, we settled on this particular restaurant. Being mid afternoon and mid week, it was quiet and we enjoyed personal service. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and attentive. There was a really good selection of cold beers available. The price was very good for what we ate, $38. That was for two meals and two beers plus tip. We highly recommend trying this restaurant, but be aware that it will be busier on weekends and during summer months. There was some excellent recorded Country Music being played while we dined. We left very satisfied. I had the 6 bone St. Louis Ribs with two sides, homemade baked beans and marinated slaw. It was also served with a delicious slab of cornbread. My wife had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Marinated Slaw and Sweet Potato side that was awesome!

Lovely dinner. The appetizers were excellently prepared and so delicious. Crab cakes and hamachi were scrumptious and left us wanting more. The vegetables they were paired with complimented the dishes very well. Scallops were grilled to perfection and were tasty and oh so tender. Desserts were also very good. Loved the cheesecake. Gluten free cobbler could use some work. Bread is not up to the quality of the rest of the food.

Rosieâs Café, Tahoe City â Great vibe, great grub and great décor. Vintage knickknacks hang from the eateryâs two-story rafters, keeping hungry eyes busy until the food arrives. The breakfast and lunch menus are comparable to Fire Signâs, but Rosieâs also serves dinner, from real fried chicken to Italian schnitzel (both $17.49). Plus, theyâll happily substitute a waffle for a pancake without charge or attitude.

I went here again and as usual it was fabulous. I like to order the ahi poke cones for a teaser and their soup & salads are usually good. I had the spring asparagus soup which was good. The Thai seafood stew was yummy. They change up the menu often. I usually like to drink Jimi Hendrix or Dougie Fresh cocktails both are good.

Obviously, a popular spot! We visited for dinner about 7 P.M., and struggled to find a parking spot. Once inside, we found the place crowded, noisy and fun, for both locals and visitors. It was certainly an upbeat atmosphere. The menu had good selections and the service friendly and quick, given how busy they were. Two of three of our meals were quite good. The third order was for split pea soup, which was not hot and too thick. the burger was great, but avoid the split pea soup.Recommended for a casual. fun lunch or dinner.

We headed back on 89 towards Tahoe City looking for a place to eat dinner. Weâd heard about Sunnyside from a fellow traveler and since the restaurant was one of the few on the water, and casual where we could eat a light meal, we decided to try it out. We ate on the deck overlooking the lake and sat next to a nice couple from Arizona. Since the woman I met suggested the salmon bowl we both thought weâd try it and were glad we did. It was a light meal with sweetened grated carrots, cucumbers, edamame, seaweed, white rice and a perfectly cooked piece of sesame encrusted salmon. On the side was a teriyaki dipping sauce. A glass of Pinot Gris and a great lake view made for a perfect evening until the sun dropped and the chill air breeze came upon us forcing us wimps to leave.

The view along the Truckee River ( dine outside) was simply amazing! Service top notch. Parking is iffy If they are busy. Make reservations!!! The appetizers are FANTASTIC. Main course options are satisfactory. The only reason not giving top score was the Johnny Burger was ordered medium and it was raw. With that being said, itâs well worth a evening dining in Tahoe City

We've been to Christy Hill a few times now and the two best dishes are the gnocchi appetizer and scallops entree. The pan roasted gnocchi comes with duck confit, mushrooms, peas, port jus and a perfect egg. Use a spoon and make sure you get some of each ingredient. It's a perfect spoon! The scallops are perfectly cooked, although a bit pricey ($40 for 3 scallops). Try 'The Liar' ripasso red wine from the Veneto region in Italy. Reasonably-priced and delicious.

Firesign is THE spot for a great breakfast! Many optionsâ huge omelets and other portions. The coffee is good and served aplenty! The choices are varied and the waitresses take an incredible numbers of special requests. The eggs Benedict, tofu scramble, and the crepes were all hits. Very comfortable in here!
