The good room on the first floor was lovely and great to have. Night of the 21 May We arrived late on a Saturday and got the last room downstairs and it was not good, very tired and the mirror in the bathroom was all chipped and dirty and it was much more expensive that the good room we had on the 21. But Caalis was busy and there was a gym festival on too so we should not moan too much. We will return but hope for a room on the first floor. Jeffrey was super helpful on the night of the 21 May thank him please!

Clean hotel in Calais Town Centre

All the staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. breakfast was served daily at no extra cost with continental selection of breads, fruit, pastries and cold meats. With fresh orange juice and warm drinks. Rooms were clean though a little on the small side. The first room was great and had a good view and even a bath. The other 2 rooms only had a shower though, so it is the luck of the draw I am afraid. The air con was not working which made the room very hot.

It is budget price and budget quality. Family room has a mezzanine for the kids in the eves. Very steep stairs up to them but a lockable gate at the top. Very cramped downstairs and not terribly well cleaned. Bathroom very cramped and have to sit on the toilet on an angle! However, it’s under £100 and fine for a night after driving up from France. Cheap places to eat within walking plus the massive supermarket. Star lost for cramped facilities and dirtiness on floors etc.

This is a clean, comfortable hotel with helpful staff. Although the decor looks a little tired. There is a good. Safe car park and access to the French autoroutes is easy. If you have time go to Calais’s main cemetery which is just along the road where the British War Cemetery from the 2nd WW will be found.

A member of the Holiday Inn staff helped us in one of the most stressful times of our lives.

Reviewed By 403laurenceo

My review is really about a member of the staff Nicholas who was on duty and ensured that we were able to board a ferry on the night in question. There was a mix up with out documentation and so we missed our initial ferry. We had to find a computer to go on line in order to get what we needed. We walked into the Holiday Inn and explained our problem to Nicholas who was on duty. He was immensely sympathetic although he didn't know anything about us and turned over one of the computers at the main desk. It took an incredibly amount of time to fill in the forms but he printed them out for us and I celebrated by having a large beet at the bar. I really believe that if he hadn't helped us as he did, we would not have been able to catch the last ferry to the UK. I have often stayed in Holiday Inns in the US while travelling but his trust in us and the help he extended again proves with helpful employees like Nicholas what a great chain Holiday Inns are.

Highly recommend this gem if you are looking for a stay before/after using Euro tunnel. A quiet haven in the secluded backstreets of Calais in close proximity to the tunnel. 10 mins. A chic boutique style B&B. Our party had 2 rooms, a double and a family. The double was really comfortable. The family room was really a suite consisting of 2 bedrooms and an amazing bathroom with sunken bath as well as a shower. Breakfast was continental (of course), fresh and buffet style. Coffee was excellent. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

When we arrived about 2000 after a long drive we had to call the hotel owner and he gives you a code to enter the hotel then tells you your room number, you find the keys in the room. Our room was a mix of very old wooden furniture, nothing matched but the bed and bedding very clean, we were told as we got checked in that no breakfast available due to covid but we stayed the previous night in a French hotel in Colmar and full breakfast served, it was ok for one night very close to the tunnel crossing but we wouldn't stay again.

This fabulous wee hotel at the port of Calais was literally our 'port in the storm'. The staff were so kind after a very stressful 12hr drive. The food was great and we even had our own dog door from the room to the garden. We were VERY stressed about the LFT imposed 2 days before we arrived. Paulina, the receptionist was a wonder. She made appointments, allowed for late checkout (no charge) and was just all around, very kind. ThnQ so much, a definite return.
