Great staff, clean room
Reviewed By Tourist269816Our experience with phone call research, check-in and breakfast staff was excellent. Pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. They gave us a list of local restaurants, in which we found the "Country Buffett" to be extremely top notch, perfectly cooked southern comfort food at a very fair price, and plenty of food choices for those eating vegetarian as well. Breakfast at this hotel was great! Lady worker was constantly refilling food, drinks, and cleaning. She was also very friendly and welcoming. Scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, make-your-own-waffles, yogurt, cereal/milk, bagels, breads, cream cheese, coffee, juices, etc. As for our room, it was very clean. I have already commented with the hotel directly about their extremely outdated and very uncomfortable hide-a-bed sofa in the suite we rented. Mattress would be uncomfortable for small children, let alone the adult who slept on it. It is an original one made many decades ago, springs all near the surface without padding, and no mattress pad for it. We used the one extra blanket provided, to cover it, but only one sheet and pillow provided as well. Every time my young adult son turned over, the hide-a-bed/sofa was extremely noisy and squeaked and creaked loudly. He did not get the night's sleep he desired, as he was afraid of waking up all of us. The a/c cooled, but we had to crank it down low for it to cool, still seemed unable to defeat the humidity level. The room smelled a tad bit musty, but being a family with allergies, it wasn't enough to be unbearable at all. Perhaps the hotel might set their a/c units to come on at a certain temperature (80 degrees or so) to defeat this humidity issue. The mattresses on the queen beds were very comfortable, we found all areas of our room, including microwave and refrigerator, bathroom and sink areas all very clean, no stray hairs, etc. Sheets appeared very clean and freshly laundered, floor and corners all well-vacuumed. TO BE FAIR, we DID NOT report our issue with the hide-a-bed/sofa, as by the time we unfolded it, it was very late, and we were all exhausted from the drive. I have every confidence, through our interactions with the staff, that they would likely have brought us extra blankets to pad the bed, and the extra sheet and pillow we needed as well. If you stay here, check the sofa bed out first. All in all, the price was priced fairly decent for a clean, safe hotel with a full, hot breakfast..

Reviewed By Jayboy4Arrived around 330pm for checkin. Smooth. First room door would not open, as it stayed latched (and seemed to be so from the inside) but new room was provided. Everything is pretty new and clean. Internet is slow. 4.6-5.6 up, 1.6-4.6 down Mbps with the added benefit of having a relatively weak wifi signal in the room we were in. Good TV channel selection, but signal strength was sad, with lots of digital breakup, especially on the local channels. Would’ve appreciated more than four small pillows for a king bed. Mattress and linens seemed new and clean. The towels were aged, but at least all the filled potions (shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash) were full enough to do the job. Breakfast area was very small, being essentially just a room off the lobby. That said, the food was pretty good compared to others. Even the coffee was reported to be good

Reviewed By DWS2I stopped here on the way to Florida. The location is convenient to the interstate and restaurants. The building was clean and well maintained. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The room was near the elevator so there was some noise, but that was the only negative. Otherwise, the room was comfortable and well appointed.

Reviewed By mikechilders1968Housekeeping needs to be retrained. Nasty brown stuff on shower curtain. Refused to shower. Stained worn out couch. Loose locking device on door. The only reason we stayed was because it was 3am and every where else was booked.

Reviewed By Donna MThe woman who checked us in was very nice and friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I don't think the hotel could prevent the very loud neighbors who hung outside our door until late and then again early in the morning. The location is very noisy, again it is not the hotel's fault. It is a good place to stay if you have to stop driving for a night.

Disappointed
Reviewed By camp219Been staying at this hotel a number of times on way to Florida. The surrounding location got worse. Room was ok to 'just lay one's head for a night'. Getting a 'bag breakfast' was unbelievable - could have gone to Sam's and bought the same thing (as they did) for less than a buck. Using the Covid card certainly shows how cheap this place is. The only positive to this place was the young lady at the desk when we checked in.

Reviewed By Gogi0418New property, although I’m a IHG member I’ve never stayed at Avid and I like it! Staff was friendly and professional. Avid is the No-frills arm of IHG with minimal amenities, no in-room coffee, limited breakfast offerings. Comfy bed, nice big windows, convenient to I-75.

OK if You're Desperate
Reviewed By la_girl_hotmailCheck-in was ok. Clerk was friendly at both arrival and upon departure. No stairs at this place, so glad we had first floor as we had a lot of stuff to haul in. Room was not all that clean. Neighborhood was sketchy at best. I requested a room in a quiet location and was told that was where our room was located. The shop across the street had workers outside at 1 am pounding on metal. Heard others going in/out of their rooms constantly. I would not recommend this place unless you were desperate!
