Les 4 Canards

Service was very friendly. Regional cuisine. Food was honest but not remarkable. Appetizers (duck roll and pulled confit rabbit) were OK. For the main course, duck roast was disappointing (to much fat left on the duck, making it chewy). Dessert was good. Expensive given what we got. Breakfast buffet was very nice though.

We love this restaurant so much we have been bringing friends and family from Montreal to try it out. Everyone has been delighted so far!
The staff of waiters, bartenders and hosts are extremely attentive. They make the whole experience so enjoyable! The menu is filled with local delicacies served in a fancy manner. All the plates are well presented, delicious and are always spot on with the flavor combinations. I've tasted the gourmet menu over the seasons and it's always been perfect!
They add some little attentions such as bringing a little stool for the ladies' purses! The mise en bouches are delicious and varied so that there is something for everyone's taste. They also have a variety of local cheeses from which you can choose from. The desert bar is also a really nice added touch. Even though we are always full when we get there, it's so nice to have some little sweet things to bring back home or to the hotel for later.
The only downside for us was that on several occasion they were out of the wine that we were after from their wine card. We still ended up being recommended great alternatives which we absolutely loved!
Little tip! The menu is very similar to the one from Europea in downtown Montreal, but much much less expensive! So if you've been considering going but can't afford it, I would highly recommend trying out Le Cellier du Roi - absolutely worth it for the experience alone! And of course to witness the chef's expertise at building such a fabulous menu!
We highly recommend and will visit again!

Chateau Bromont

Reviewed By guzadog - Ottawa, Canada

We stayed at the Auberge Bromont and took a convenient (and hotel provided) shuttle to the Chateau Bromont for dinner. As we were travelling with small children, we ended up on the Terrace (lovely views!) for dinner.
While the musical entertainment was not to our taste, the food itself was truly sub-par. My chicken Caesar salad was overdressed (the greens were wilted and limp) and the grilled chicken breast unpalatable (so dry I barely finished half of it). My husband's steak et frites was a disappointment - half the steak was gristle and there was no greens accompanying the meal (at $25 this was quite overpriced). Our daughter's pasta off of the children's menu was tasteless and it took a very long time (after we asked) to pay (we ended up getting up to get the servers).
We would have sent some of the food back (particularly the terrible chicken breast) if we weren't getting so close to the children's bedtimes!
With the lovely views, this may be a good place to go for drinks (and perhaps the other restaurant in the hotel is good) but I would never eat here again or recommend it to others.

My wife and I dined here with another couple (our second time). The restaurant was understaffed which I understand will cause delays. However there were no apologies or explanations from the service staff. Moreover, there were also multiple faux pas by the wait staff. We finally emerged from the restaurant 3 plus hours from our reservation time. Food was average at best.

We stayed and ate here on a half board package (room, dinner and breakfast).
Only the two of us and one other guest but the food was excellent (tasty, well-prepared and presented) and so was the proprietress/hostess's friendly service.
What is amazing is that the chef de cuisine - the hostess's partner - was a plumber who offered to step in when her previous chef left.
Breakfast is a very nice, delicious 3 course affair so you won't leave hungry.
Definitely have the duck. It was cooked a bit more done than we're used to French style (rare) but it was still excellent.
Limited but good value wine list.

Rotisserie St-Hubert

Reviewed By EKJ06 - Montreal, Canada

Stopped at the Express side after a day on the hill during March break... ordered right away with friendly service, but then ran into a glitch - Manager came out a few seconds later, apologetically explaining that due to a rush in the dining room, they had run out of dark-meat chicken and it would be 15min. She offered for us to choose anything else from the menu - ribs or whatever, rather than be delayed. However, a 1/4-leg St.Hubert meal is one of my daughter's fave things, and she prefered to wait instead... so the manager gave us complimentary appetizer cheese sticks and a piece of cheesecake to make up for it!
Pleasant people, considerate and Customer-oriented! This was a surprising service level experience for a quick-serve chain.
For sure makes me want to go back next time we're in town!

Fabulous Restaurant, pretty snazzy for such a sleeper of a town

This restaurant has a good menu short enough to think that all the food is freshly prepared ! I enjoyed the tartare steak which was different from the ordinary with included fresh fruit ! Something different !
Service is good, normal for Canada which is sort of a reference !

A popular lunch spot with a wide range of breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings. We enjoyed crepes, quiche and salads with various vinaigrettes including balsamic-chocolate! Friendly service. The shop is full is chocolate and sweets from a France and other countries. My advice is to skip dessert at the resto and pick up a treat in the boutique.
