Kootenay Tamil Kitchen

Bringing homestyle healthy South Indian food to the Kootenays for the very first time!! More than 90% of our menu are gluten-free and dairy-free and more than 60% of our menu is vegan.

Our second occasion at Tamil Kitchen was 100% pleasing. I think a little more information from wait staff would be helpful. And in spite of mentioning that the restaurant was uncomfortably cold on a cool-ish day, there was no action. On our second visit, it was still too cold, however, when we mentioned it the server turned off the air conditioning. It would be good to be forewarned when a dish is especially spicy. That said, it is a it is a lovely place with delicious food. The gluten free menu is impressive. We will return.

Baba's Indian Cuisine

I found it way overpriced, and the prices didn't add up to what was on the menu. I felt cheated. Had to negotiate the bill. I've had better Indian food from Loblaws frozen section. No kidding! My tiki masala was very soupy and discoloured. The vegetables were soggy. Small portion. “False Accusation Please Verify”We have been running Babas since the last 17 years. My wife serves and I cook.We have NEVER incurred you or any other customer with an accusation of mis pricing of Menu prices with the Bill (Had to negotiate the Bill) Our Menu prices have been the same since the last 4 years. The tikka masala is a thick gravy which is an onion and tomato baseOur portion size is 6 oz of chicken breast which is a standard portion as per industry Norms. Please verify you were at our restaurant in Nelson ThanksChris( 250-352-0077)

Our second visit to Tandoori and as good as the last. Huge dishes full of flavour, perfect fresh made garlic naan and vegetable pakora. The butter chicken and eggplant bhartha (two of our favourites) were soo good. Nice seating, good service, credit cards accepted and we will be back on our next Nelson visit.

We went for lunch and ordered two vegetarian dishes and one order of naan bread. The dishes were nicely flavored and the naan bread was good - not at all greasy like some places. There was enough food for the two of us. My concerns are that the veggies in the dishes were rubbery and had that frozen veggie taste and texture and the ambiance was lacking - 12:25 p.m. on a Saturday and we were the only people in the restaurant. They are planning a renovation so hopefully they'll attract more business, but they really need to make sure they're using the best ingredients.Dear Customer,Thank you for your valuable review. As you might know that we opened this place not too long ago, therefore, we were still trying to build an audience at that time. Moreover, we are trying our best to make our customers more satisfied with the food, service, and overall dine-in experience. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we hope to have an opportunity of serving you again. - Spice Affair Management.
