Bottrop (German pronunciation: [ˈbɔtʁɔp] ( listen)) is a city in west central Germany, on the Rhine-Herne Canal, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Located in the Ruhr industrial area, Bottrop adjoins Essen, Oberhausen, Gladbeck and Dorsten. The city had been a coal-mining and rail center and contains factories producing coal-tar derivatives, chemicals, textiles, and machinery. Bottrop grew as a mining center beginning in the 1860s, was chartered as a city in 1921, and bombed during the Oil Campaign of World War II. In 1975 it unified with the neighbour communities of Gladbeck and Kirchhellen, but Gladbeck left it in 1976, leading to Kirchhellen becoming a district of Bottrop as Bottrop-Kirchhellen.

Not perhaps the best place for a business meeting as this is a "wild" restaurant. Nevertheless, we had our meeting here and stayed for over 4 hours. Superb food. Excellent Beer. Atmosphere to die for. Of course it would be great to come on your bike and park outside next to all the other cool machines... I would go again, and again..

- Essen war gut, allerdings sind die Teller total überladen. Ist bestimmt gut gemeint, für meinen Geschmack zu gut (Auge ist mit).
- waren Weihnachten dort (reserviert), dementsprechend war es sehr voll (wie zu erwarten) und die Kellner waren total überfordert, mit Allem! Für mich nicht nachzuvollziehen, denn man weiß ja auf Grund der Reservierungen was auf einen zukommt.
- Der Höhepunkt am Ende, der Keller war nicht in der Lage auszurechnen wer was zu zahlen hat und hat uns dann mit der Gesamtrechnung alleine gelassen. Durften wir dann selbst rechnen!

I went to Zumbinos once a week throughout the summer last year to buy multiple bottles of Acqua Panna water. This is one of the few places in the region that sells this excellent Italian water. The restaurant is lovely and the shop offers a wide range of tasty Italian food. The people who work there are also friendly and helpful.

Met mijn vrouw en twee dochters (3 en 5) hebben wij heerlijk gegeten in dit restaurant. De porties waren GROOT, de bediening zeer vriendelijk en de inrichting ook erg leuk, in tegenstelling tot de meeste Griekse restaurants waar het al snel oubollig aanvoelt.

I stayed in Bottrop for 2 weeks in a Hotel 200m away from the sushi bar. The food was exeptionally good. Extrem fresh and made direct after ordering. They have belt as well, the nice thing: the belt is not packed with sushi that last on the belt. Highly recomended.
