Noorn Akorn is a thai restaurant near the Cathedral, simple and very good. Well prepared dishes with very fresh and quality ingredients. The entree of shrimp rolls ("BY PIA: Rouleaux de crevettes entières") is especially good with quality shrimps. Another recommended dish is the pasta with shrimp ("PAD THAà KOONG: Nouilles sautées aux crevettes"). The restaurant gets quite crowded at lunch with locals when it offers a menu for 14.50 euros.

I made reservations based on TripAdvisor reviews with quite a bit of advance notice. We were six people and when we arrived at the restaurant, our party was separated with 4 people at one table, and 4 at another (which was actually in the other room). At first I thought, OK, it's a small place so maybe they couldn't accommodate us, but after the first course, the 4 top table next to us was seated with just 2 people. It made zero sense at all.The service was friendly and attentive, but rushed. We chose different wines for each course, but the timing was off with each course. Again, nothing terrible, but just not right. It felt like they are trying to be something, but not quiet sure what. When it came to the food, it was mostly good, but I have to admit that my enthusiasm at being in Bordeaux was greater than the taste of some of the dishes. The menu was interesting, but while some of us loved the food, some thought it was "nice". I wanted to love my night here, and we had a good time, but I had better food while in Bordeaux and my honest feeling was a bit disappointed. The one thing that must be said is how welcoming and nice the staff were. They were honestly friendly and full of smiles. That made some of the other things forgettable. Had the price not been what it was, I would have given one more star, but for what we paid, I feel we had an average experience.

le restaurant est petit , ne peut recevoir que 18 places assises et 7 places au bar. Le restaurant ne reçoit pas de plus de 6 personnes. Personnel souriant et généreux .
I appreciated that they had a vegan dish on the menu. I wish they had more vegan options, but hey, beggars can't be choosers, right?! The waiter was incredibly polite and spoke very good English. He was very pleasant---a great change of pace from the rude waiters and customer service in Paris. Overall, the vegan dish was OK. However, the customer service was excellent!

Had lunch with friends, and we all went for the set lunch menu. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff friendly and helpful, and the restaurant atmosphere was very nice. Would have loved to try their dinner service as well. I would definitely visit again, and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Cambodian asian restaurant
Usually in France, "all-you-can-eat" are based on frozen products with no taste and a huge risk of getting sick. But this one is a treasure, everything is homemade, from the nems to the ice cream the chief prepares in front of you on frozen plancha. The chief is the nicest person ever. He is always smiling and taking care of you but never "too much", I rarely met such a nice host. I strongly recommend this place, spring rolls and sushi are not crazy but all the fried stuff, shrimps, samosas... are out of space and the dishes are also amazing. Do not hesitate to go to "Dragon Doré" it will provide you a comfortable and friendly dinner, you will have a lot of pleasure to share a dinner with your friends, or your family and when you will go out, there is no doubt that you will be smiling, as much as the chief who will let you an unforgettable memory.

Do not pass this place.... we were turned away from another Chinese nearby and were so glad they did! The noodles are to die for.. I had prawn and vegetable and my partner had chicken and they were so fresh and tasty and filling just a perfect balance of flavours.. super quick service as well.. it's not a 5 star surrounding but don't let that put you off it's a gorgeous little gem!!

This Japanese restaurant is conveniently located in front of a cinema (and therefore takes advantage of the Wifi - which I couldnt log in ...). The atmosphere is pretty nice as they locate the tables well, therefore whether you come in 1 or 50, there are enough places for you to have your own privacy while enjoying your meal.We (3 people) ordered a set of sushi boat and 2 plates of yakitori along with 2 miso soups and 2 bowls of rice (50euros) and some desserts (5-6,5euros for each). The miso soup was a big disappointment because they put too much onion, NO tofu at all, and 2 thin slides of mushroom make no sense at all. The seaweed seems dead floating around the bowl. Seriously you can buy instant miso soup and it is better than this. The miso soup goes out along with some pickled cabbage too. However my advice is to eat this cabbage with the grilled meat sticks later on. The next one is the sushi boat. Well, for a person who tries sushi for the 1st time, it might be good. For someone like me who have tried many places of sushi, the boat has some small problems. To me, the fish is not really really fresh because it doesng really melt down in your mouth. It feels slighty chewy (not that kind of gum chewy) and that is not a good sign. Probably I came on Jan 2, which is right after the holiday so they couldnt find a better source of fish? Also there is not enough pickled ginger, but you may ask for more (free) I guess. Next course is the Yakitori!! There are 5 sticks on each plate: salmon, tuna, beef, meat ball made of pork, and the last one I dont remember :P They cook in such a way that both meat and fish are cooked thoroughly but so so soft, yet there is crunchiness outside. Tr taste of teriyaki sauce is absorbed into the meat so so nice. My favourite is definitely the meat ball stick. It is incredibably soft and tasty, and if you eat it with the rice and a bit of pickled cabbage, the crunchiness of cabbage along with the softness of rice and significant taste of the meat balls - they all make a harmony and bring you to the heaven (well at least for me it was true!). We ordered some desserts but none of them are quite good, except for chocolate icecream if you are a choco-addict with high percentage of cacao, and the green tea icecream. Still, too pricy for eh-eh desserts there. Save money and go to Amarino for some nice icecream there. The staffs were nice, polite and quick even there are only 3 waiters. You can go there and buy for take-aways too. In general, for the price of that set, we were pretty satisfied.

HUTONG Restaurant will re-open on the 16th of July for lunch (12:15 to 2:30). All the classics from the streets of Singapore to Bordeaux: Chicken Rice, Laksa Lemak, Bak Kut Teh, Chicken satays...
Just back from visiting Singapore & missing the food courts & street food, especially Hainanese Chicken Rice so we headed to Hutong when visiting Bordeaux yesterday & were not disappointed, the Ravioli in Black vinegar soy sesame sauce was exceptional. We will be back. First rate service & loved the Iced Chrysanthemum tea
