Freindly staff, good wine, the plates are artwork, it looks great and it tastes great. It was one of the more expensive meals in our holiday but the quality was excellent. Nice little amuse to start with, free bread with (garlic)butter.

To help you better understand my reviews, my wife and I are independent travelers in our mid-60s. While we definitely like a bit of luxury and enjoy good food, we usually find five-star hotels and Michelin starred restaurants too pretentious.
We've dined at the Alte Mühle many times while attending the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg. We always enjoyed it, but I have to admit that the last two times the service hasn't been what it was when we first ate here.
The pluses: the menu has interesting dishes, all very well prepared, and the setting is as romantic as it gets.
The minuses: The last two times we have eaten here the service has been very slow and the meal took too long -- the restaurant only seats about 25. This was because the kitchen was overstressed with too many diners coming at the same time. This isn't the restaurant's fault -- most of the diners are attending Concerts at the Schubertiade and so come when the 4:00 concert lets out, or at 6:00, with plans to attend the 8:00 concert. Slow service certainly wouldn't be a problem if you dined here when Schubertiade is not on -- it affects all the restaurants in the entire area as the Concerts attract about 700 music lovers.
Some special notes: they only take cash!! Austrians like their food salty, so Americans may find some dishes a little too salty for their taste. If Zwetschgenstrudel is featured for dessert, order it!.

we recently celebrated an 85th birthday with the extended family at the Hirschen (not the first time). What a lovely treat, the service was outstanding and the food great, from Flaedle soup to veal roast to a cold buffet to end the day. On top of that the picturesque setting in the middle of the village. Well worthwhile for an outing if you are in the area.

Nice place to eat with a great view when you are a smoker (which I am not), It is a pity that the room with that fantastic view is the smokers lobby.
Good food, and a great possibility to order small portions (which allows you to eat one of those great Deserts after your meal). Excellent coffee and wine. Good value for money. The staff is very friendly. Wifi available.

After some outdoor activities in summer, we had the chance to enjoy the beautiful Terrace where you can sit under the sun and have a nice break or rest after the tour. There are a well sorted menus available which all of them are prepared fresh with local ingredients. We recommend the self baked cakes where you fine every day different flavors.

We went there for dinner and it was great. Very friendly service. Ladies dressed in beautiful traditional Dirndl's. The food was excellent, wine good, very nice complimentary drinks at the end and a little gift to take away. It looks a very nice hotel. Certainly worth considering.

We were so happy to be able to descend by cable car after hiking up, the steep unofficial path by mistake, so discovering a comfortable and fast way down again was simply amazing.

Spazieren gehen, Wandern im Sommer, im Herbst. Ski fahren im Winter. Und nichts mit Remmi-Demmi, Nachleben, Edel-Boutiquen und sündhaft teuren Juwelieren. Ein einfaches, nettes,,gepflegtes Dorf. Mit einem absoluten High Light Hotel: der Sonne.

Ein Geschäftstermin führt mich nach Andelsbuch und ich nutze die Gelegenheit, den Löwen im Dorfzentrum aufzusuchen. Den führt Familie Braun hier in vierter Generation. Neben einem Gast an der Bar und einem Tisch mit drei Damen ist wenig los. Trotzdem bewahrt die junge indigene Bedienung die Körperspannung. Die Kerze im Kerzenhalter mit Hirsch wird illuminiert und Karte, Besteck, Getränk usw. kommen postwendend auf bzw. an den Tisch. Die Einrichtung ist touristischer Barock, dezent dekoriert. Authentisch wirkt die wuchtige Holzverkleidung an den Wänden und Decke. Aus den Boxen kommt Ö3.
Zum Start gibt es eine Flädlesuppe um 3,70 €, schön heiß mit dünn geschnittener Einlage. Es geht weiter mit - laut Karte - einer Spezialität: der gefüllten Schweinebrust um 15,80 €. Die Füllung besteht aus Knödelmasse, gespickt mit Erbsen und Karottenstückchen. Das Ganze in einer braunen Bratensauce. Dazu gibt es Brokkoli und reichlich Reis (separat serviert). Nicht aufregend, aber solide zubereitet. Zum Abschluss: Nougat-Topfen-Knödel mit Vanilleeis um 6,50 €. Die beiden Knödel sind so prall gefüllt, dass sie der finalen thermischen Behandlung nicht Stand gehalten haben. Die Süße konkurriert interessant mit der leichten Säure des Topfens. Dazu ein Cappuccino mit reichlich Milchschaum.
Resümee: Solide Wirtshausküche, professionell kredenzt in austauschbaren Ambiente. Eher für den Zwischenstopp auf der Durchfahrt als fürs gezielte, gepflegte Abendessen.
