The coziest wine bar in Bucharest with 140 wines served by the glass, a great selection of fine spirits and delicious International cuisine!
I booked a wine tasting session at Corks as a birthday treat for my husband. Unfortunately, the side street which the bar is located on isn't very pretty but don't let that put you off. Once inside the calm atmosphere of Corks, it doesn't matter what's outside. The decor is perfect for wine tasting and the music added to the atmosphere, despite there not being many other folks, there was a pleasant ambiance to the place.Dominic was our wine waiter and he left a large map of Romania next to our table which showed the main wine regions and the winerys which Corks dealt with. There are several packages to select from and Dominic recommended one with 2 sparking, 2 white and 2 red wines. He gave us a short explanation about the grape, winery, etc before we sampled each wine, he stayed with us long enough to answer our questions about each one but retreated and left us to it until we had emptied our glasses and were ready for the next. We spent about 2 hours in total but it could have been done faster if necessary. An experience I would definitely recommend and for the cost of 65 Ron each (approximately 14 GBP) I would say that it was definitely value for money.
