As we were staying in the hotel we had a cream tea here. The lady who was work behind the bar was so lovely. The cream tea was delicious. Would highly recommend.

We were a party of three for dinner.Ambience and decorA classic, old-fashioned pub that caters for diners looking for something better than pub food and also a local clientele. The lay-out of the dining room was cosy and there was a nice atmosphere. The decor could be more inspired and the gents toilets need attention.FoodThe menu includes 6-8 choices for each course, with one vegetarian main. Food quality and presentation is good, reflecting a chef who has obviously either worked in a quality restaurant prior to coming here or knows a thing or two about cooking. If there was an area to improve upon, I thought the desserts could have done with more inspiration.ServiceThere is always a danger with employing 4-5 young waiters in the 16-19 age bracket. These young people were polite, efficient and well-trained. We had very good service.To sum up, we would definitely go back to the White Horse. it is popular with locals and visitors alike, and we would recommend it as a village pub/restaurant that provides something which is much better than average.

A good value local cafe, visited while at nearby craft centre. Good, tasty local food served promptly and without fuss. A varied menu and we chose from a specials board and the lambs liver and onions was excellent.Well worth a visit and take advantage of the free car parking.

We ate here on the evening we arrived at the castle for our overnight stay. The food was amazing served by friendly, attentive staff. We were given just the right amount of time between courses.Next morning we enjoyed breakfast in the same restaurant.

Stopped off in Ruthin on way home from camping trip. Found this lovely place - great food, great staff. Granddaughter banged head badly and without us asking Gail brought over an ice pack, to put on bump. Also, noticed another customer asking what a particular baguette filling was like and she was promptly brought a bit to taste. You don't get that happening in chain's. Went to a screening night - this includes a meal themed in with the movie. What a delight ! Excellent food followed by a cracking movie (The Post). Meal was exquisite with excellent service. Ice cream was served in the interval. Great way to meet people.

We attended for Motherâs Day. Absolutely faultless from start to finish. Paul and Debbie and their staff couldnât have been nicer. Food and setting was sublime, as always. Best roast dinner (vegetarian) Iâve eaten. We were amazed when the told us theyâd done 250 covers that day. The staff were so friendly and the food was so well cooked and presented. Best pub food for miles and miles around.

We made a booking for 4, our friends celebrating their wedding anniversary. The friendly staff did all they could to help to put up balloons and banners. The food was excellent, superb choice in starters and mains. Even sharing the dessert was no problem. Highly recommend this restaurant, could not have wished for more and we had a fantastic and memorable evening!

We were so lucky to find this amazing restaurant during a three night stay in Ruthin. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable and the service is slick and super friendly. We were extremely well looked after by Andrew throughout our visit. The food was outstanding. Immaculate presentation and delicious.We had been exploring England and Wales for almost three weeks and both agreed that this was the best meal we had eaten throughout our trip.We would highly recommend this fabulous restaurant and would definitely return if we were in the area again.
