Find out what Vietnamese restaurants to try in Vientiane. Vientiane is the capital and largest city in Laos. Located on the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is a city steeped in legend and history. The city is the home of the massive gilded stupa, Pha That Luang, a national symbol of Laos. The streets are lined with trees, French colonial buildings, street markets, Buddhist temples, and noodle shops. Just outside the city is Buddha Park, a garden littered with over 200 cement sculptures depicting the gods and monsters of Buddhist and Hindu myth.

Stopped here for dinner with my partner and we ordered the Nem Nueng set for 2 and the set of 5 Goi Guon rolls. The Nem Nueng was delicious. The pork sausage was nice, the herbs and vegetables fresh an the sauce was sweet and tangy. Would definitely recommend trying this. The Goi Guon rolls were also good and again made fresh ingredients. This restaurant isn't much to look at from the street but smart travelers will notice the number of locals dining here and the amount of fresh produce being prepared at the front of the restaurant is an indication of the numbers they expect to be serving that evening. I would recommend trying this restaurant.

Just around the corner for our hotel made I PHO the place to return to several times after sightseeing around Vientiane. Nice outside tables to watch the street action just across from a Wat with school. Spring rolls are wonderful, tasty with good sauce and served quickly. We drank iced coffee over and over, marveling at the strong sweet cold treat and the great price.

From the quality of the food (laap chicken, duck curry), the good value for money to its attentive and friendly service, the night was a success... As mentioned before, this is only a lunch place. No dinner. Sometimes it is so nice not to have to decide what to have for lunch. Here, you only need select small, large or jumbo beef pho. It comes with all the regular trimmings. Plenty of drinks to choose from, though. It's not a fancy place, but it's full of locals, and is inexpensive.

PVO Vietnames Food is probably my favorite restaurant in the city for its excellent and reasonably priced Vietnamese food. I was relieved that I ordered the half size banh mi sandwich as the portions are humongous. The quality of the spring rolls and noodles are top notch here and itâs not surprisingly the place is constantly busy with locals and tourists alike. Servers can be a bit impatient but they make it up with efficiency.
