Eine schönes Gartenlokal, direkt am See und den Bootsanlegern, das wir an einem sonnigen Frühlingstag besuchen. Frischen Fisch gibt es - aus dem See? Wein gibt es nicht, keine Lizenz im angeblich besten Lokal der Stadt. Die Tugendwächter schlagen zunehmend zu.Wir haben ordentlich gegessen und sind gut bedient worden.Ãbrigens: Keine 50 m hinter dem Lokal verläuft die Bahn zur Fähre.

Absolutely a must-try if you are in Van. Best menemen and honey with nut butter I've tasted in the whole of Turkey. Incredible service with attentive staff who readily recommend dishes to you. Tea refill comes faster than you can drink it. Pay 20TL per person and you'll get to try everything you'll ever need to know about the Van breakfast. There are other places in this street that offer breakfast at a cheaper price, as low as 10TL, but I'd highly recommend that you go to Kenan Kahvalti Salonu at least once to try out the quintessential full spread.

Our most outstanding culinary experience was at the stupendous barbecue at the Van Tamara Hotel where fresh skewers of lamb, beef, chicken, liver, kidney and sausage were complemented by a massive array of superb vegetables and many other âfixingsâ such as yoghurt with cucumber. It was so sensational that we went three nights in a row â not to be missed. The hotel is great also

The cuisine and initial service at Mahall City were quite good, with a warm welcome and friendly staff. Unfortunately I left the restaurant rather dissappointed. Instead of returning our change, as is normal in Turkey and basically everywhere else in the world, one waiter thought he could scam me as non-Turkish tourist. After 10 minutes waiting in an almost empty restaurant, I had to ask for it myself. All of a sudden the waiter 'remembered' the exact amount he owed me without me even mentioning it. Within 20 seconds he was back with my change. Smells like a scam. Too bad to have such personnel in quite a nice place. Be aware here!

This is the best restaurant I visited in Van. Rather than produce the rather formulaic menus elsewhere this sets out to produce unusual but nevertheless local specialities. Our meal with spectacular pastry encased pilau,chickpea spectacular, delicate fried minced meat pastry, Teheran soup and salad topped off with rice pudding cinnamon and almonds was delicious and high quality by any body's standards.The only thing the meal fell down on imo was the sausage dish on both taste and texture but that could be me! Factor in really friendly service despite a language barrier and this is a very good dining experience

Alweer zo'n uitstekend restaurant. Er zijn er tientallen van in Van en duizenden in heel Turkije. Deze is wat chiquer dan de meeste anderen. En ook hier is eten goed. Eenvoudig maar lekker. Service, hygiëne, verscheidenheid, smaak, prijzen, alles was zoals je het graag ziet. Vooral de linzensoep smaakte heel goed. In mijn favoriete nagerecht, sutlac, zijn ze niet zo goed. Het was er in ieder geval niet toen ik erom vroeg. Vanaf een zitplaats bij het raam heb je uitzicht op de drukke Iskele Cd. en op de Hazreti Omer moskee.

When you visit VAN, a fantastic city with wonderful scenery,lovely people and true delights, try this restaurant.A special kabap is prepared right in front of your eyes. Specially prepared meat is horizontally placed on fire, it is called CAG KEBAP. It is a treat you will not forget!!Kebap is served placed on skewers. They serve them till you say STOP. Usually you cannot stop until 5 or 6 skewers are served.I recommed this place highly.
