Tabarka (Arabic: طبرقة ṭbarqa, Berber: Tbarga or Tabarka, Phoenician: Ṭabarqa, Latin: Thabraca, Θαύβρακα in Ancient Greek also called Tbarga by locals) is a coastal town located in north-western Tunisia, at about 36°57′16″N 8°45′29″E / 36.95444°N 8.75806°E / 36.95444; 8.75806, close to the border with Algeria. It has been famous for its coral fishing, the Coralis Festival of underwater photography and the annual jazz festival. Tabarka's history is a colorful mosaic of Berber, Phoenician, Hellenistic, Roman and Islamic-Ottoman civilizations. The town is dominated by an offshore rock on which is built a Genoese castle. Nationalist leader Habib Bourguiba, later to become president of post-independence Tunisia, was exiled here by the French colonial authorities in 1952..

La vue et le cadre tout 'abord sont exceptionnel, une vue incroyable sur la baie de tabarka.Le service est chaleureux à la tunisienne.Malgré que la carte ne soit pas très variées (Une vingtaine de plats en tout) mais c'est très bon et très copieux.A ne pas rater.Seul bémol, malgré la note sur la tenue exigée, beaucoup de clients restent en short et torse nu sur la terrasse.

Quand on a un peu de sang dans les veines, on ne peut pas résister à une pareille aventure, prendre un bon déjeuner au restaurant le palmier, un petit coin familial qui vous accueil dans un espace décoré et où on retrouve la cuisine tunisienne. Un régal.

Our family visited this restaurant on a cold and stormy day in Tabarka. The heat was on to make it pleasant enough inside. The service was better than average for Tunisia. The food was good with the calamari appetizer being especially enjoyable.
