The food is good, the place is less attractive with a shooting range giving you constant background noise which is getting less annoying the longer you stay there, might be the beer though :) PS: We were seated outside, not sure how it is inside. Our tour group had just completed our visit to the Augusta Raurica archeological site and museum, and were headed to another town for lunch, but the bus broke down. Since we had no transportation we looked for the closest place to eat. Right at the corner of Giebenacherstrasse and the main road Rheinstrasse (or Landstrasse) was Thai Food Joy, a small café with about 10 tables for 2 inside and 3 tables outside. The only person working there, named Joy, looked so surprised to see 14 guests suddenly show up, with no reservations and not one speaking German. She spoke a little English, but we all managed to point to the menu and order something we thought might be good. And everything was indeed good. We all selected a familiar dish, red or yellow curry, Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, nothing unusual. The servings were generous and Joy was able to prepare each dish using fresh ingredients. My only complaint would be that she used a lot of uncured capers, which can be bitter and difficult to chew. My husband just pushed the capers to the side of his yellow curried chicken. All of us were impressed with her efficiency and calm demeanor despite being obviously overwhelmed. After we finished our lunches, 4 young German/Swiss men came in and ordered something that smelled heavenly. I asked what it was and they said it was the daily special. It looked delicious, and if any of us could read German we might have ordered the special. Nevertheless, we were all happy with our lunches, and Joy was a delight. She and her sister had only opened the café for 6 months, and I wish them all the success in the world.

After enjoying a hundred percent delicious dinner, we asked about the history of this lovely place. We learned that the foundress spent her early days in Thailand selling street food, before moving to Switzerland with her sister and brother-in law. Now being a grandmother and semi-retired, she still prepares the sauces herself - so, if you want authentic Thai food: here it is, guaranteed! Most delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere in a delicately and tastefully decorated space.Whole-heartedly recommended!
