This restaurant was recommended and we werenât disappointed. Itâs a charming informal place with great food and outstanding views.You drive up to it from Brissago and the views of the lake and the mountains on the way up and from the restaurant are amazing.You can eat inside which has a rustic atmosphere and it full of character or, weather permitting outside where you get the views.The menu was small with mainly local specialities and everything was freshly cooked and delicious.The restaurant is family owned and they thrive to make everything perfect....itâs a magical place.Advisable to book. I think itâs about to close for the winter till spring.

A friend found this place. Don't know how but he did. When we got out of the car we had to hike up a long trail and back down in the dark. If I had spoken the local language I would have asked more questions about how they do business way up here. The food was average to good. The people were nice and on a beautiful night it is a perfect place to be. There are many restaurants in the region, this one is worth going to for the experience.

Ristorante San Martino is the right place for you if you really want to enjoy a full menu while sitting on the balcony admiring the Brissago Islands, the view all the way to Ascona or Cannobio depending where you are sitting. Food is great, Matty the chef cooks with the soul as well as with his hands, Leo the owner will greet you with a smile, you will be spoiled while enjoying the menu of the day.And if you do not want to leave, no problem, they have rooms where you can relax and the next morning enjoy a great breakfast on the same balcony but with a different feeling.

Il nostro ristorante-pizzeria e posizionato nella zona pedonale di Brissago in riva al lago.Siamo vicini ad un parco giochi per bimbi, a 2 minuti a piedi dal porto e dai parcheggi. Non accettiamo riservazioni per posta elettronica.

The location is beautiful with the lake view and the small park. The restaurant was absolutely full. When we arrived, we were ask to wait a while on a sofa and we were offered an aperitive on the house.It was asparagus season, so tried some asparagus. Addditionally veal and pasta. All food was well made from good ingredients. Some of the asparagus had a hard end that should normally be cut out, but it was still good. Service was friendly and lively.Grazie mille per la vostra visita al Gabietta.Siamo contenti che abbiate potuto apprezzare lâaperitivo, in attesa di un tavolo per poter cenare, ammirando il magnifico panorama che abbiamo la fortuna di avere a Brissago.Un caro saluto Simonne e Massimo

We took the bus from Locarno out there, after reading the reviews and having eaten already at some other grottos.Very friendly staff, did not made reservations and still got to sit where we wanted. Food was amazing so was the service. Did not had desert but a great merlot from the region and a bottle of water. We are definitely coming back

Weâve been to Grotto La Risata to taste the typical dishes of the region. Couldnât be more satisfied!! The entire experience was stunning from the moment we stepped in. Perfect location, wonderful outside terrace, good ambience and cheerful owner. Average prices, surely worth it. Definitely recommended!!

My wife and I had a terrific lunch in all regards. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The setting on the terrace with the view across Lago Maggiore and the general ambience were very nice as well. However, the excellent food is the real star. We each chose to have the three-course menu, which had been recently set for autumn. We found each of our dishes to be excellent: rabbit liver pate, hazelnut-encrusted venison, and peach tarte with caramel ice cream. Weâre currently planning when will be our next visit.Dear travelin-tommy, warm thanks for your great review. We are happy you had a terrific experience at our restaurant. Besides our daily changing 4-course menu, we have a quiet large menu card which we adapt about every 3 months, according to the season. The autumn menu card, which proposes also game, has just been set in the beginning of September and you were the first to taste it We are looking forward to seeing you soon again at the Collinetta for one more tasty lunch or dinner.
