Maru Sushi

This is a nice place if you want good sushi. The restaurant is very small and very basic. (It definitely isn’t following the trend of the newer flashier sushi places that keep popping up everywhere with their dim lighting and loud club music). They have a great selection of traditional Japanese fair. The kids enjoyed the chicken teriyaki and rice. We order about 12 sushi rolls with the other adults at the table. Everything was very good and fresh. They even have a roll with peanut butter in it! They have a small selection of beer, sake and soft drinks.

Heisei Japanese Restaurant

Surprisingly good in the middle of nowhere. Recommended by a niece who used to live in West Lafayette 12 years ago. Not a lot of choices with dessert but you're not there for dessert. You're there for good quality Japanese food. A bit expensive though.

I got some sushi delivered to me from Maje Sushi. There aren't many reviews online for Maje Sushi, so I took a bit of a shot in the dark by ordering from here (I always look at reviews before I try a restaurant!). I got the dragon roll and the crunchy tuna roll. My fiancé got a chicken wrap as well.I have to say that I was impressed by the sushi from here. I actually find myself craving it now, a few days later. The quality was decent and the rolls were executed nicely. The rolls were a good size and were delicious and tasted pretty fresh.Neither one of us were really a fan of the chicken wrap (which he had ordered because he is not a fan of sushi), but it wasn't inedible. It had a thin rice wrap and a lot of cucumber and spicy sauce in it.I am really wondering why this place is not more popular. I highly recommend it if you are craving sushi and want something decent at a decent price. It's right by the school too.

Tsunami

Tsunami offers delicious and beautifully presented dishes. The heart of the menu focuses on fancy sushi rolls, and all are very tasty and plentiful. Each roll packs big flavor and a generous portion. Some of my favorites are the Tsunami Roll, Pacific Roll, and the O.M.G. Roll, but like I said, all the rolls are really enjoyable. For a more traditional dish, order the Sushi Rice Bowl, which is a simple rice and vegetable salad with fresh pieces of fish-AWESOME! Tsunami is located in the Chauncey Hill shopping center, and there are very few tables inside. Although I recommend dining in this incredibly small but huge flavored restaurant, take-out orders are very common and the quality and presentation are still evident on orders to go.
