We used to avoid this place but after they changed management it quickly became our favorite neighborhood sushi place. Always fresh, great variety, my favorite appetizer is Yellow Tail Jalapeno dish. Recently they added interesting selection of hot teas, one that I enjoy the most is "Moga Tea", it's a Quincy Pear Tea.

Everything from service to atmosphere to food quality is top notch. We had Rock n Roll sushi to start which was awesome. Then we had a bottle of Cab for 1/2 price wine night. The entrees BBQ Brisket tacos were delicious. Highly recommend!

Went with a couple of friends who frequent this restaurant often. This was my first visit. Friends did all the ordering and has all specialty dishes/rolls. They were very good. Had some sushi that was cooked which was very different. Service was very good

My son loves the food at this small Hibachi restaurant and we were out with his two friends and their parents. We have been here many times with the family. This time with 9 guests and the service was lacking. They took our order and 1/2 the group wanted brown rice. While preparing our food on the grill we did not see the brown rice and the chef served the fried white rice to 1/2 our group. We asked about the brown rice and were told it was not available. We then asked for white rice for those who did not originally get their rice. It was brought out in bowls and we had to ask if they could fry it on the grill. The chef accommodated our request but by that time most of our dinner was finished - rice for desert. We did not care that they ran out of brown rice it was the lack of communication and addressing the issue before dinner was finished.The food was good all around but the chef miscounted the shrimp and several diners were not provided their complementary 3 shrimp on their plates. We asked for an adjustment and additional shrimp were brought out. However, as we learned an additional shrimp dinner was added to the check. This was also addressed and the additional dinner removed. There was no compensation made by the restaurant for the inconvenience and errors. We did enjoy the food that was served.It was slightly embarrassing that we recommended this restaurant to our friends and the services was subpar.It might have been an off night and I am sure we will re-visit this restaurant again but I am concerned with the lack of attention to detail and communication between the staff and chef at the table.

Good buffet with a variety of choices. Very good selection of sushi and Japanese fare. They donât puts a lot food out at once and are continually refilling, so food is fresh. I hadnât been to this restaurant in a couple years and it seemed a bit worn this time. Bathrooms were dirty as well. The place could use a renovation and good cleaning.

Nestled in a small shopping center in Manalapan, NJ can be missed if you dont turn into the awkward turn of US#9. My first time there, I missed it two times and had to take the jug handle, almost gave up. After the fist bite, its was all over, I was hooked. Its now our go to place for every special occasion (Birthdays, Rainy days, Sunny days, Anniversary, Festivus, etc.), you name it we find an excuse to go to Konbu. The sushi and rolls are sublime. My favorite Tuna Pizza, Tokyo Fruit and Mountain Roll. Of course the sashimi is excellent too.

This is the ONLY place we go to for Chinese and Sushi in our neighborhood. It's always fresh and tasty and their menu is extensive with some excellent choices!
