The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and the local ingredients. Very polite and not too attentive. The food was really good. We shared (2 of us) the Croatian steak Florentine which is inspired from Italy! We couldnât fault it; a rib-eye and tenderloin from one cut of steak. It was delicious with three types of local salt. The local Croatian craft beer (if you like craft beer) was brilliant. All in all, a top, top meal.Dear Scottthedog,Thank you for taking the time to write this review. My husband and I are here a number of times during our stay at Ripenda Verbanci and thoroughly enjoyed the friendly family service - young waitress is married to the chef who's parents own it. Food was very tasty with a good selection of fare but not so much choice that you are overwhelmed. The truffle steak was absolutely gorgeous. We had never tasted truffles before and the taste of this meal was fantastic. Istrian potatoes ( cooked with onions and bacon) compliment perfectly.Lovely homemade Apple and poppyseed strudle was also an unusual but tasty new dessert for us.The only downside would be the mosquitoes in the evening as the tables outside are under trees. V pretty but you need repellent.

We were four persons and we got convinced by the outlook of the restaurant. As we arrived, the waiting was long to get a menu card. My dish was very good (steak with truffle sauce) but the one of my girlfriend really wasnât good. We asked by phone if it was possible to have gluten free dishes for my girlfriend (she canât eat it). They said it would be no problem. When we arrived, the owner told us she could only eat pasta with tomato sauce or grilled fish. She took the pasta but this dish really wasnât good. It had no taste & I really hope they will taste it one day to realize it. The overal service was correct, but took way too much time to get served. Thank you for your review and for coming in our new restaurant. We really do our best to make all guests happy but sometimes in this job happens situations where we misunderstood. Most food that we have we prepare on grill so person who can't eat gluten can eat all kind of meat, fish and vegetables that we prepare with many tips of sides that we have. So I think that offer is really big for everyone. About waiting time, we think it is realistic since most people come at the same time and the food is not prepared in advance than when the customer orders. Thank you for your comment, best regards
