All reviews are bang on! This place is exceptional and so well priced. I did have the wagyu and I realized Iâm not really a fan but no disrespect to the chef! Soft shell crab excellent. Asparagus as well. Gutted I went on my last night or I would have eaten here every night. I felt like I was in there home AND today I got an email which was so gorgeous with pics of me at the restaurant at and thanking me for coming to their restaurant. Wow! Other places would get epic reviews if they cared about their patrons like these guys do.Thank you for your hospitality! I will tell all my clients to visit

The food and atmosphere are amazing. I went with a Japanese friend who speaks a little English, and I don't speak much Japanese. Fortunately our waiter had excellent English, and was kind enough to translate all of his conversation for me. It really helped me to enjoy the memorable meal. Also, we went on a Saturday afternoon around 1, and had the place to ourselves. Just us, the waiter and the chef. Great Japan experience.

A Japanese blogger recommended this steakhouse where the meat is delicious and perfectly grilled. 67000JPY for 150g of the Muruzawa (only 80 cows are felled every year), about 57000JPY for 150g of the Hirai. My family has gone three times; we've ordered a la carte and the lunch sets too. Each order comes with salad and vegetables. One can order extra salad for a small fee. Beer is served perfectly chilled. Service is warm and efficient.Tip: The small casual and cozy restaurant takes only a limited number of reservations per day, made online. It is open only five days a week, for about 3.5 hours for lunch meals. What we do is arrive around 1030H on the days it is open, sign our name on the list that is put out around 0900H, then walk around Saga-Arashiyama before returning at 1100H (opening time).The restaurant only takes cash.

Didnât have the Kobe but the steak we had was extremely well cooked and delicious. The standards of the sides also top notch - particularly the wedges which may have been the best Iâve had. Service was good and staff catered for us appropriately. Would come back.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around near the bamboo forest. From outside it looks very nice but quiet. Usually i prefer to go to crowded restaurants, but somehow this time I went in. Im glad I did. Their specialty is wagyu and the famous kyoto tofu. I tried both and oh my god.... THE WAGYU WAS AMAZING! Very soft, juicy, and generously sliced (even the 80gr one), and the tofu was sooo soft and nice. Overall i really recommend it. The interior is also very nice and is actually more crowded than it seems :)Thank you for choosing "kijurou"We're very glad to recieve some comments of high evaluation.We're waiting for your second visit with our hospitality when you come to Arashiyama again.

Honestly the title alone took me 30 minutes to think of. But jokes aside this was the best dinner that my wife and I had on our honeymoon. It is a Japanese steak house where you can order different cuts of matsusaka meat and each one was more delicious than the next and certainly worth the money. Would recommend to everyone looking for a good time.

Miscommunication with our waiter was part of our issue. The food was overpriced and we only got 3 pieces of meat each for over 100 dollars. The staff was nice and the meat was good, but it was pretty dissapointmenting overall. The drinks were watered down as well.

What a nice evening! Beautiful and sensitive food. Served with elegance.A bit expensive but not so much comparing to the atmosphere and quality.Beef and fish are delicious. Soup is delicate. A lot of menu. Choose your own one.Wine is excellent. I've tasted an Italian and a French cepage produced in America. Glasses are quite cheap. Pamper yourself and book a table!

Waiter offered my group of 4 free drinks with our meal if we wrote a TripAdvisor review right there in the store. I declined. This is a violation of TripAdvisor guidelines. This can artificially inflate the ratings of the restaurant. Very disappointing.
