This restaurant is amazing.I would recommend eating in the outside area if the weather is appropriate. The schnitzel with either pears or peach is a favorite as is the stroganoff. The service is extraordinary. As with many restaurants in Germany you are offered a schnapps on the house at the end of your delicious meal.

The place is a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. Service was fast, friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing! We were a party of four, had steak, chorizos, schnitzel and a vegetarian dish - all of which were wonderful. Not sure about the sweet fries as a side, might be better to let the customers know in advance that they are not made with salt, but sugar, since that is probably not for everybody. Wine was excellent. I personally also liked the cozy, more low-key atmosphere of the restaurant, where you can just relax and have a good time, unlike many other steak restaurants that end up being too fancy and often overpriced. We will be back!

The staff was great. We dined as a large business group (25 persons) and the service and food were both phenomenal. All of the meats were seasoned nicely and the side items were good as well. I would definitely recommend going and bring your appetite.

This was the second time I've visited the restaurant EMIL. It is situated in Dortmund right next to the Dortmund "U" in a cellar vault but also offers some nice tables outside with a direct view into the kitchen and their 800 degree celsius oven. They mainly serve steaks, and I can highly recommend the Wagyu steaks and also the Tomahawk steak. Prices are rather low compared to similar restaurants; will go there again some time soon.

Visited here on an overnight stay in Dortmund. They cater for tourists by having English menus available. Price are a bit on the steep side but then again you get what you pay for. I had steak and couldnât fault any part of it. Service is prompt and waiters speak pretty good English too. I would definitely try some of the other items on my next visit.
