Alma-Ata was the host city for a 1978 international conference on Primary Health Care where the Alma Ata Declaration was adopted, marking a paradigm shift in global public health. In 1997, the government relocated the capital to Astana in the north of the country, which is about 12 hours away by train.

In general everything good - waiters are attentive and friendly, atmosphere is pleasant, food tasty. One thing is that they are changing the menu positions and quite number of item on stop-list or not available anymore. This is not affecting the impression.

It was my first experience with Scandinavian food in Almaty. Nevertheless, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, has 2 levels, which allows to have places both in the bar or on the second floor like a balcony. The food is tasty and portions are quite big. Prices are on the average level like the similar places in Almaty. One of the most interesting things are the decorations of all dishes - this is a separate acknowledgment for the chief! Also, service is on a high level, waiters are working fast and unobtrusively. So, overall nice place to eat and have some fun time with friends!

I had high hopes for this steakhouse. Unfortunately- like many things in life- my hopes were deflated by a dirty steak knife.The rib-eye was okay but over cooked. The chicken was dry. The service was adequate.Definitely not worth the moneyHello!Thank you very much for the review of yours. The bar looks nice, and on the first view nothing special - maybe average.I had a steak , and i have to say it was one of the best steaks in the city of Almaty.The quality of the Product is really good and thatâs what it makes it - a place to come again.

Entrecôte definitely is a place worth visiting. Choice of wines is average, but they have Georgian Mukuzani and this resolves the case. Choice of steaks is wide; I went for a horse meat entrecôte, which was pretty good. Sauce on a side turned out not to be necessary - as it was not very good either, but the meat was close to perfect.Service is fine, but not fantastic - my slight interest for dessert remained unnoticed. And the price was high for Almaty measure - but quite acceptable, compared to Europe.

You can tell by looking around at plates of food and happy faces that Crudo is a good restaurant. I ordered a simple burger, ordered it medium rare - 99% of the places in Kazakhstan cook their meats past well-done, so I was looking forward to a western-style burger that was pink in the middle. What they brought me was cooked more like seared tuna - crusty on the outside, red raw beef in the middle. Gross.Go to Crudo, but don't order a burger. I have lived in Almaty now for 8 mths. We eat here several times a month but will not be back. It only takes one very bad service resulting in us leaving before we even received our meals for us to not want to eat here again. We came here on Friday the 23rd of August We arrived around 6.45pm. We did not have a reservation but the high tables were empty and we were happy to sit there. There was no one else there. After about 10 min another couple came in then 10min later single person sat down as well. Eventually our waitress took our order. We waited 50 min for our started to arrive. In the mean time the other two groups had starters and their main meal served. After waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes we had had enough. And to top it off two people who had joined the high tables 45 min after we arrived received their main meals. We asked for the bill and another female staff member apologized and said it was a mix up in the kitchen. We had asked our waitress many times what was happening and she told us it was because we had a starter, so did the others sitting at our tables. We were the only foreigners sitting at these tables. The rest were all local. There are too many restaurants in Almaty to have to deal with terrible service. Good afternoon! Thanks for your feedback.
