costado oeste de la escuela de San Rafael de Heredia se encuentra este bonito restaurante de comida variadales anuncio que no tiene parqueo pero el vehÃculo se puede dejar al lado de la calle y un vigilante se lo cuida por algún dinero que quieran darle el lugar es ameno, siento que entre el momento de ordenar y recibir el pedido es bastante el tiempo que transcurre,recomiendo mejorar esto por eso mi opinión no es 5 estrellas ,la comida en si es deliciosa y la sangrÃa ni se diga los precios no son tan altos como en otros restaurantes de la zona ,recomiendo el plato surtido de calamares,delicioso,tal vez los que me gustaron menos fueron los que venÃan con salsa búfalo,los demás estupendos

This a good restaurant with good Peruvian food and good service. The atmosphere is in character and the food tasty and well presented, perhaps not as creative as some modern Peruvian restaurants n Peru and elsewhere. The quality was good and the presentation traditional. It is a little more expensive and well worth a visit.Randall the server did a great job.

A great Spanish restaurant located in San Pedro de Barba. This is a 30 to 40 minute drive from San Jose. You will need to have a car to get there. I recommend the 1st Sunday of the month since they have a show along with your meal at 1:30 p.m. There speciality is PAELLA a very typical Spanish rice dish. It takes at least 45 minutes to prepare so order a number of great tapas to enjoy while you are waiting. Did I mention the Sangria is great along with a Creme Burlee for desert. You will definitely need a reservation or you will be seated in rooms totally isolated from the show and the ambiance. The owner is a major part of the show and goes around offering clients a drink from a leather wine pouch which never seems to empty.

Architecturally interesting place. Has the rustic feel of a converted barn with lots of wood and stone - although lighting could be improved as we all needed flashlights to read the menu.Extensive menu features pizzas (too many to count), wings, burgers and more. Portions are substantial (be prepared to take home leftovers). Service was efficient and professional. Prices are reasonable.

I visited Tacotitlan after arriving from a trip to Mexico. This is as close as you get in Heredia to the real deal. They have "carnitas", "cochinita" and other treats only available in Mexico, so make sure you try anything at this place. It all tastes great.

High in the mountain and secluded from the hustle n bustle of San Jose and Heredia. It's not easy to get to as you navigate through a winding Mountain Road going through several villages. This adds to normal Speakeasy Fields has arrived at the location with its parking often overflowing with vehicles.Unfortunately unlike most of the other Mountain restaurants in the surrounding Countryside they are not blessed with a beautiful view from their location, however they make it up with tasteful decor and fine dining at reasonable prices and excellent live music. You can pat yourself on the back just for getting here, though navigational GPS will get you there easily,, if you just trust it! The service was good and the food a finer typical variety. Seating is a little cumbersome, but your better off with reservations or you will be out of eyesight of the stage. The bar is in the middle and blocks alot of the view. The performances are Jazz, classical, and Folkloric with many popular Latin bands singers and poets. There is also a added surcharge after 9PM some nights depending on the venue. All an all it is an excellent choice for a date or with friends. Your night should be " PURA VIDA!"

Positives: Fantastic, creative, colorful asian fusion food! Love the Thai Tom Yum soup with shrimp and Vietnamese shrimp and rice dish. Great ambiance music at good level for talking. Good decor, lighting and variety of food and drink. Negatives: The white sangria was good but was filled with ice that completely watered down the drink. I would recommend serving it cold with no ice. As the customer drinks it, bring over a little bowl of ice the customer can add as needed. The staff is nice but forgetful and not good at taking the initiative. For example: they forgot about the water, never checked to see how our food was or to ask if we wanted dessert or another round a drinks. Starting at 10:30pm when the place cleared out, they seemed more interested in cleaning than attending to the customers since the rush was over. The staff brought over the cheesecake dessert without utensils or a candle despite I mentioned it was her birthday "La Cumpleañera" a few times that night. It would have been a nice gesture for them to bring over a complimentary dessert with a candle since we were there enjoying ourselves. I had to flag down the waitress to ask if they had any desserts and then when she brought it over ask her if they had a candle. Those are the little detailed that they could work on but, I'll definitely be back because of the food, ambiance and music.

Among the best restaurants in San Rafael, Matices personnel is always welcoming. Wether you want to have a full meal or order the "bocas" aka tapas, you will find most of the menu is delicious. Price -quality relation and portion size is better than most restaurants in CR. very recommended for casual lunch or dinner.

I went to this place for my weeding anniversary and we loved the food the environment it was in barcelona before and the place transport you to Spain. The waitress really friendly even the crazy spanish owner came to our table to say hello and to ask about the food quality. Prices around $40 per person.Paella excellent and the Sangria.I will come back any day!
