San Chez a Tapas Bistro

I hadn't been to San Chez in quite some time. I'm glad we went. The food was fabulous, well prepared, well served, and a really varied selection. If you have gluten sensitivity they have an extensive gluten free selection. Our server was fantastic. Well versed in the menu and very engaging. We had a 20 minute wait for a 2 top which wasn't bad considering there was a concert at van Andel a couple of blocks away. We'll be back!

Was brought here by some friends on a stop in Grand Rapids. Great vibe, good beer, the food was average.I went with the Grandwich was is supposedly an award winner. It was good, but not as flavorful as I would have liked. Meat was a bit tough as well. The Yuca fries were interesting though. My colleague went with the Mofongo and it was unlike any we've had before. Doughy balls that really didn't have a lot of flavor.Would probably go back but try something different as the service was great and the vibe inside is fun.

MeXo

We're a restaurant and Tequila/Mezcal bar located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our cuisine brings a modern touch to the classic pre-Hispanic food of Mexico.

The menu at MeXo offers clear and detailed descriptions, which is good because many of the items are unusual. The two of us shared the crab cakes (an appetizer), the esquites (a side), and the tamale stack ( a main dish)--and had plenty of food. The tamale stack was the star! what a combination of flavors and tastes! A sous chef stopped by and gave us some background on the ingredients that go into this creation. --The cocktails were excellent as well.Price I suppose is relative--we are from Ann Arbor where they tend to be higher--but the cost seemed very reasonable for the high quality of the food. A truly standout restaurant.
