Went to Molcajetes Saturday night, started out with a couple margaritas on the rocks excellent! Lisa was our server and was great good service without smothering us, very friendly and down to earth. Salsa and chips were great and plentiful. We ordered there specialty shrimp, steak, and Chorizo in a piping hot Molcajete in a spicy sauce with onions and cactus. What more can I say delicious!! Cane with rice, beans, and hot torts. Also had a shredded beef taco the was very good. Friends had spinach stuffed chicken that they really enjoyed. We will be returning soon.

Not the greatest location, but man is the food delicious! Arizona Cafe is located in old town Bakersfield and is in close proximity to other iconic restaraunts. This place has been dishing up authentic down home Mexican food for over 55 years. No wonder the place was packed when we walked in! The building is old, but very clean and well maintained. And the food...well let's just say that it's simply amazing and well worth the wait. If you're looking for authentic delicious Mexican food in a friendly, unpretentious environment, look no further than the Arizona Cafe. I can't wait to go back!

I went there alone for a lunch and was so disappointed in the amount of food, the wait time and the staff rudeness. The food was sparse, not like your usual Mexican restaurants. But the quantity was not the real problem; it felt unfriendly and like I was in the way. I left so unsatisfied and won't go back. La Mina's and others are so much better.

I was attracted to the Pyrenees Cafe because of their versatile menu online. There's something to appeal to nearly everyone. For the lunch and dinner entrees, you can order a full Basque meal (which means more courses), or a trimmed down American version. If you don't want a full meal, there are sandwiches, salads and burgers. Rather than sit at the communal tables, I opted to sit in a booth in the bar area with the locals. Service is not swift, but it's friendly. The server was very helpful in explaining the menu - and in making recommendations. She recommended the lamb chops over the beef/steak options. And I'm so glad she did. They were incredible!! The onion rings that accompanied the chops were very good as well. And the salad before the entree was very good - lots of variety in the salad - with a delicious house vinaigrette dressing.I can't say much for the mixed drinks here. The gin and tonic I ordered was mostly tonic. This is more of a beer joint.I'm looking forward to returning to this cafe when I'm in Bakersfield to try other options on the menu.

Mama Roomba is my favorite Caribbean restaurant in town. The food is good. Nice ambiance although it can get a bit loud at times. Service has always been on point and courteous. All the dishes our smaller portions. They are served tapas style which is good for sharing. Prices are fair. Some of my favorite items are the following: Octopus ajillo style, Corn and Cheese Empanadas, Chicken Paillard, Ceviche Peruvian style, and Calamari Frito with chipotle aioli. Everything is so flavorful cause of the various spices that are used.Try Mama Roomba for a unique dining experience. You might like them too.

Ok they do a great take on micheladas. The food while very good, does not have enough kick for me personally. But is probably perfect for your casual diner that likes it mild. Atmosphere is great, love the muerto theme going on. Lots of color. Food is fresh and tasty.
