This is a true local agriturismo. It is run by a family, ladies wear traditional dresses, they speak Slovene and Italian and are very welcoming, always up for a joke. Food is extremely tasty, I especially like the home made starters, sausages, bread and cheese. They have great grilled meat and great desserts. Nothing fancy, but tasty tasty!

It was a cold and miserable day in Trieste and by the time we arrived at Rudy's we were about frozen. The hearty food and stout beer was the perfect solution for warming us up. We spent most of the afternoon just enjoying the atmosphere, the great food and beer and staying warm. I would definitely go back.

Our guide took us up the mountain in Trieste to a private campground that happens to have a restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be a little difficult, but this is Trieste--it's hard to park anything here. The service was friendly, our waiter spoke some english, and recommended a number of seafood dishes on special this day. We took him up on the offer, with seafood on home-made gnocci, as well as seafood pasta. Both dishes were exceptional, as they had fresh mini-clams, shrimp, mussels, & calamari in our seafood dishes. The smell and taste was delicious. We finished the night sharing a home-made chocolate mousse--exquisite!

We drove from Trieste, its about 15kms but bus 42 will take you right there. Lovely covered outdoor eating and cosy indoors. Absolutely can't go wrong with homemade gnocci and prime veal dishes including schnitzel and ossobucco. Welcoming and efficient service, house wine or bottles. True home made high quality when you are sick of tourist food and pizza. Cost about 15 euros for main course and wine.

We were looking for a cozy place on a rainy Trieste evening. Stopped in on a whim, early, as Americans do. The owner/staff is very engaging. A bit of an Italian lesson for my wife, chastising my choice of potato accompaniment, all in good spirits. The place seems to have a long legacy in the city and the environment harkens back to a time gone by. My wife had gnocchi with deer that was just molten, and I enjoyed Wiener schnitzel. Itâs reasonably priced, cozy, and a delightful easy going place for dinner.

Located off the main streets, this little eating house/pub is great for old and traditional cuisine. The tabled dined on a variety of plates and there was no disappointment. I would have to visit a number of times to get through the many plate options - on this occasion though, goulash with potato was my choice. I could have gone for the bread gnocchi or the spinach pancake, but this will have to wait for my next visit.There is a choice of six local brewed beers - the 0.5 litre lager was excellent.The restaurant is only open at night so do not expect a long lunch.There was an eclectic mix of diners from British, Germans, Australians an locals. An excellent suggestion from a family member.You will not be disappointed.
