Terheijden - a small village next to Breda. You do not have many choices for good restaurants there, so visit Ripasso, the best choice there. The service (a young couple) is very friendly and the food is good. The value you get for your money is very good. So give this restaurant a chance when being in Terheijden.

After making a reservation we went for a evening (Saturday) dinner. We were seated in (probably) the best spot of the terrace, in the corner with great view over the waterside. One of the attendees is gluten intolerant and that was mentioned when the menu's were handed over, we could choose anything and that person would, if needed, get a gluten free option. We choose the 5-course chef' dinner accompanied with wine on every course. We started with an appetiser and a cava (with their own twist) which tasted very good, then a house speciality (cream with asparagus). Total we had 3 fish courses and 1 meat. Dessert was choice of sweet or cheese. All dishes were almost perfect, few minors: the bread was a little too crunchy and they could offer a little more water (we had to ask for more once the bottle was empty). Time between all courses was ok, only for the dessert it took just a little to long. All food was served at once and compliments for the staff for their service. However it was not all good news, although they served even separate butter for the gluten intolerant person they made a huge mistake at the dessert. The crumble (made from cookie dough), was in all the dishes! So we just asked if it was gluten free dough and it was not! the plate was taken away and within 3 minutes a new plate came. So corrected the right way but not something you would expect from an establishment like this. With the coffee/drinks after dinner it was separately mentioned the sweets were gluten-free.We had an enjoyable evening.

Went there a few times, location very nice, interior and setting average to poor! Food is so, so, no feeling of genuine cooking more convenience cooking. Although the staff is friendly the whole place is average.

The location of this one Michellin star restaurant is perfect. Charming historic building on the main village square. Great terrace for el fersco dining. The interior is wonderfull also, especially if you like art, as the art collection is amazing! Ask the owner to explain some paintings, he is a very entertaining and knowledgable guy.The food and wine were excellent also. Creative paintings on your plate, with nice wine pairings.The service is realy perfect. Very kind and attentive people and they create an excellent atmosphere. Price level is around â¬100-125) each person. Absolutely worthwhile

Not much of an atmosphere unfortunately. Setting is a bit industrial without the hipster vibe. Service incredibly slow and inattentive. Place looks like it could do with some extra waiting staff that would actually care about their profession. Food was well presented and elegantly plated, but nothing stood out. On balance I feel my 'average' judgement is fair. Unless they invest in professional waiting service, I won't be back.

This restaurant is next to a major highway, you can even consider it a "Truck Stopper". In this case, the location will misguided you... the restaurant is very classy inside. It is divided in two areas, the main restaurant and the pub. They serve the same menu in both areas.The menu is a combination of pub food, some pasta and grill entrees. I got the pork medallions and they were cooked very good, not greasy at all. One of the particular things is that the entrees have names of car brands. Even for dessert they have like 6 things to choose.I doubt you will come from far just to eat in this place but if it happens that you are in your route to Breda or Etten-Leur, this restaurant serves good food to fill you up. I went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was packed.

Went with a wedding party and spent a full evening trying a wonderful variety of small plates - about 60 options including appetizers, mains, and desserts. We were able to sample many dishes and found all to be excellent. The staff were attentive and made helpful suggestions. This would be a great place for a long dinner with friends.

The décor is well thought out and the menu is inspired. As you transition from course to course you'll be pleasantly surprised at each turn. Each dish has traditional undertones but are lifted by modern techniques and locally sourced ingredients. If I had to choose, the highlights for me were the Singaporean black pepper lobster (traditionally crab) and Hong Kong scallops on the half shell, though the meal as a whole was faultless.The sommelier/hostess will really seal the deal if you're looking for an outstanding dining experience, her choice of wine pairings were perfect and her non intrusive attentiveness is unrivalled.It's worth travelling for, I guarantee it.

With friends we decided to have our dinner at the just opened restaurant ZESTE.After a friendly reception we selected the 3 course dinner and they surprise the guests with a great presentation, also in between the courses. The taste was excellent.The white and red port (with the cheese plate) tasted very good.The atmosphere and friendly personnel gives the dinner a special touch.

Restaurant provides good quality food and as we were on a Leger coach trip did a "special" dinner meal for 20 Euro. For the money it's quite good (soup plus choice of battered chicken or fish in cream sauce etc and chef's sweet of the day) BUT would really recommend going off the menu as the chef is really good and beats the fixed price meal by miles
