We don't remember the number of times (pleasure or business) we stopped in the beautiful village of Borghetto sul Mincio and another reason is the romantic Ristorante La Cantina, which you find at the Hotel Faccioli in the very heart of Borghetto s.M. We have never been disappointed with the fine local food served by the owner Silvia ( restaurant & hotel are witness of the enviable Italian family business) and her staff. The prices are very honest and this cosy restaurant with the amazing wine collection will add your compliments to those of the many Italien guests that favoured it. Being in the area we would highly recommend a visit to another gem of the delightful countryside - SOLVERINO. another witness of Italian history , Piazza Castello - the Rocca with the impressive memorial of Henry Dunant who founded,after the battle of Solverino in 1859 the Internation Red Cross. By the way, from the BORGHETTO you may walk or cycle, all along the quiet Mincio River leading to lake Garda - you will enjoy it after the fine meal of the Ristorante LA CANTINA. Anna & Jean

I was with a group of 6 friends in Verona for three days and we were given a recommendation to go to Valeggio Sul Mincio for a nice dinner a few kilometres away from Verona. Went there totally unplanned and found this restaurant. The place is lovely, fresh and welcoming. The kitchen is great and the staff are ever so welcoming. The menu is well explained and the food tastes even better than it looks like on the menu ! And the desserts ...oooh, they are to die for ! Will surely return on my next trip to Italy.

I really love and cherish this restaurant where I use to go with my parents when we really want to splurge. Quality is over the top with a large selection of traditional dishes, the bill could be expensive but food is really great and everything is home made.

The restaurant is situated almost in the middle of the river. You can sit outside by the river or inside with air conditioning an no mosquitos! The menu is good value. There is a huge range of aperitifs and cocktails from â¬3-5, including non-alcoholic ones. We had the tortellini tasting menu. Portions are the perfect size to enjoy the food. The waiting staff are very friendly and spoke great English to me (and helped me when I attempted Italian!) explaining how the dishes were made. All in all a lovely evening.

The reviews are good, sometimes are excellent. But, if you unlucky enough to arrive during a wedding, make an U turn and choose an other restaurant. We arrived at Olmo, a wedding was playing in the next room. Only few not reserved tables. We were 2 people, other 5 tables, not big room. Probably the dessert, coffee and other things are good but after 90 minutes we decided to leave the restaurant. They only said âsorry for delay, there are other 160 people into next roomâ. If you canât manage 5 tables âcause a wedding, work on it only. 68 euro, no coffee, dessert even wine.

Quality of food is very good, but1 a menu is not offered, you can choose only à la carte2 choosing à la carte does not allow you to choose every dish: a minimum of two person is mandatory for primi piatti and highly recommended for main dishes3 prices very high: ⬠8,5 for starters and ⬠16 for a meat dish4 portions are risible (!)5 service is rudeBuonasera sig. Franz ... purtroppo abbiamo molti dubbi sulla sua recensione, dal momento che non scrive nulla di specifico, ad esempio in quanti eravate, quando siete stati da noi, cosa avete mangiato ecc ecc .. e la foto del suo profilo è un'immagine generica quindi non si capisce chi è lei ... Scrive due prezzi ... uno errato, dal momento che non abbiamo nessun antipasto a 8.50 ⬠e il secondo dice 16 ⬠per un pezzo di carne .. un pò troppo generico e comunque sulle foto di tripadvisor c'è anche quella del nostro menù con i prezzi, stessa cosa vale per i primi è sempre indicato nella foto !!! (poca fatica sarebbe copiare a caso da li) Comunque ... supponiamo che sia stato veramente da noi .... non capiamo cosa intende per " non si può scegliere un menù, ma solo dalla carta" ... cos'è ?? forse si aspettava di mangiare un menù a prezzo fisso ??? ... e poi cosa intende per cari ??? i nostri prezzi sono perfettamente in linea con la nostra qualità (cosa che oltretutto scrive anche lei ...) ma a quanto pare la qualità non è una sua priorità , preferiva il menù fisso e questo la dice lunga ... This restaurant we picked due to good reviews on other sources. The interior looks a little dull, but the people working were very kind and although the restaurant had not yet opened we were welcomed in and served with some beverages. We had read that the Tortellini is great here, so we ordered that and have to admit that this was the best Tortellini I have ever had! It was fresh made with delicious meat filling ... just in one word awesome! As main course we had the steak and fish, both were also great. We just can recommend this place, and found it rather low rated to what we experienced. And as lots of locals popped in for dinner, this must be a good place (always a good indicator).

We arrived early at a half-filled restaurant. Seated on an enclosed porch, we were not especially pleased with the appearance of the restaurant. I would describe the decor as homemade with low-grade materials. The menus were also rather shabby, but the entrees sounded pretty good. The restaurant seemed to specialize in fish dishes, but neither of us were up for that. We ordered Tagliatelle con Porcini, Petto Anatra Arancia, Rosso Saline Gozzi and Semifreddo Pistacchi.Our food took a long time to arrive and in the mean time we struck up a conversation with people on the neighboring table. They too had been waiting a long time to be served, and when their orders arrived, they were missing items and there were items they had not ordered.We had better luck than our neighbors, but were rather disappointed with the quality of our meals. Nothing stood out as better than average and some items were barely acceptable. Perhaps the problem stemmed from the size of the kitchen. I do not know how good food can be prepared in such a tiny, primitive space.The service was spotty and unhelpful when there was a problem. Oh, there were lots of apologies, but little in the line of remediation.At 43â¬, the meal was quite overpriced based on quantity and quality. Despite the great smell of the grilled fish, we would not return.good morning, sorry for his bad experience .. the restaurant was renovated in June 2017 and I assure you that the matreiale is not poor .. remembered the fact of waiting if you order 1º with a second to be able to wait longer. believe me if I could widen the kitchen I would have already done, and our equipment is cutting edge and not primitive! in addition the red salt costs ⬠17.00! removed those from the bill would have spent ⬠13 ... is normal!

We visiting several restaurants around the Garda Lake, this is definitely the best one for us. We visited in the group of six including two 4 year kids. The staff were very friendly a the food simply great. Recommend the Garda antipasto misto and great beef tagliata.

This restaurant is a little bit off the beaten track, but still within walking distance from most hotels. The interior is modern with pictures on the wall of the film "la doice vita', a classic from 1960. The service was attentive but not pushy, and all the food and wine we ordered were excellent. Nice and fresh, well prepared and beautifully plated. The price/quality ratio of this restaurant is excellent. We went to la dolce vita on our last night in Sirmione, otherwise we would have returned the following day. Highly recommended.
