After last night's average dining experience, today brought a change of hotel and a determination not to get lost and wander round for miles and have a better dinner. MIssion accomplished.Top meal - starters a wee bit overpriced IMO - 5 pound odd for 4 wings is a bit cheeky but they were tasty enough.Pleasant surroundings and very friendly staff who were happy to chat and answer questions.Main meal - rump steak + ribs - was a triumph...very generous portions with onion rings + home made coleslaw + salad with lovely homemade dressing. Steak was cooked to perfection at medium rare...just about finished it....and the price was a bargain!!!They do a big eaters 'Man vs Food' menu - which I'd love to wade into on a non-school night. Defo on my return list for when I'm back in Plymouth..Thank you so much for your review, I so pleased you enjoyed your overall dinning experience. We visited here while in Plymouth for a few days. Jody was our waitress and she was amazing. My mums quite fussy with food and Jody helped with mums choices.The food was great....big servings! Lots of choice on the menu and nicely presented.Lovely colourful place with great vibe. We really enjoyed it here

Mothers day was a special treat as we had a table of 11 at Charlie Franks. From the moment we walked in we were so taken care of. Polite staff & very efficient service. Mixologist Elliott is an absolute diamond & so knowledgable about every drink!Once we were seated our food was served on time, hot but most of all delicious!Big thanks to the chef & kitchen staff as it was so so busy but you'd never know it. The best bit is that being a coeliac it was completely safe to eat for me. Chef is spot on with it.It is such a beautiful, clean place, cannot wait to go back. THANK YOU guys!!!!

Nothing like a great fish and chip shop. This is one of them. Never had a bad meal here - and the staff are always friendly and polite. In fact, we go out of our way to come here as the food is so consistently good! Best in Plymouth.Definitely one to try, if you haven't!

The Harbour Seafood restaurant is situated on the quayside in the Barbican and is around a mile and a quarter away from Plymouth station on foot.I had the seafood chowder to start which was decent and quite filling.I had seen glowing reviews about the monkfish curry and thus was quite disappointed to find mine to be very watery and somewhat unpleasant. It was also served with regular white rather than naan style bread.On the plus side, our bottle of Picpoul De Pinet was very good and excellent value at £17.50 per bottle.Service was good and the bill for three was around £85.Hello guys,I'm sorry to see you did not enjoy the monkfish curry, it is usually one of our favourites on our winter menu!Although thank you for your positive comments on the rest of your experience.Kind regards,Harbour management

We ordered a big portion of cod and a big portion of cod and chips. The pieces of fish were enormous, nicely battered and really tasty. The chips were good too. One portion was enough for 2. It was very quiet in the late afternoon. We didn't have to wait long and the meal was served piping hot. The only negative thing was the dirty floor.
