McKinleyville (formerly, Minorsville) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Humboldt County, California, United States. McKinleyville is located 5.25 miles (8.4 km) north of Arcata, at an elevation of 141 feet (43 m). The population was 15,177 at the 2010 census, up from 13,599 at the 2000 census. This unincorporated community is the third largest community, after Eureka and Arcata, on the far North Coast and larger than five of seven cities in the county. It is also the location of the Arcata-Eureka Airport, the largest airport in Humboldt County and the region.

My daughter, my granddaughter, and I all agree this was a great breakfast place. Good food and good service.We sat near the entry with full view of the pier on a beautiful sunny morning.Our waitress was friendly and attentive to warming up my coffee regularly so I give her a high rating. I will definitely return upon my next visit and you should too!

We ate here with our two kids. The ambiance on the patio was very nice. The wine list was good and the menu was as well. The oysters were served too warm but were still good. The cod was great as was the filet mignon. My youngest child ordered a pasta with butter sauce. It was also served with parmesan cheese which he decided he didn't like. We asked them to remake it without the cheese. It took literally 45 minutes more to send out a bowl of pasta with butter. I am convinced the chef was annoyed that we sent back the original pasta and punished a picky 10 year old for that. I don't recommend this place if you have children.

You will never find this place just poking around. After all, LoCo Fish Co. is a food truck parked outside of Redwood Curtain Brewery. But I highly suggest making the effort to find it - both for the food, and for the beer and fun at the brewery.Evidently, the owner worked in marine biology locally for over a decade, and then decided it would be better to start eating fish than studying them. It was a wise decision!We got the fish and chips with fresh locally caught albacore. Folks might think albacore wouldn't be a good choice for fish and chips. They'd be wrong. These thick, moist slabs of tasty albacore were cooked in a panko breading, which proved to be a perfect pairing. Whether we're talking the US or England, I've never had a better plate of fish and chips. It has become my new standard for fish and chips worldwide. If someone can't do better than LoCo Fish, then they need to work harder, for I have tasted perfection.You can take your meal inside the brewery (it's encouraged), and enjoy it with some excellent local beer, play a little shuffleboard with the friendly locals, and have a wonderful time in Arcata. We highly recommend LoCo Fish Co.

A new restaurant is always a curiosity in Arcata. This one is absolutely terrific. I had rack of lamb, and it was perfection: beautifully seasoned, lovely portion, served on such fresh vegetables. My friend had salmon, and again, rave reviews. Our server was a lovely young man. It's nice to see they are doing well. Next time: brunch.

Service was quick and friendly. The charred octopus was a highlight and it was presented with a beautiful salad. The chowder was deliciously creamy and was served with fresh sourdough. The shrimp cocktail had the most delicious sauce and tender shrimp. The mahi fish was tender and perfectly cooked. The rice presentation was pretty but not in the same league. The king crab was sweet and fresh.

Definitely worth searching out this place. Yes, it's off the beaten path a little south of Trinidad. Moonstone Grill has mostly window seating, all with stunning views of the North Coast. Service was genuine and spot-on. Although we only ordered starters, we never felt rushed. A wonderfully varied wine list has many by-the-glass options. Lobster wontons, crab cake (the biggest I've ever seen) and a chopped Caesar salad found us with a little room for a luscious citrous cheesecake with a chocolate ganache - wicked good! Go!!

Haven't seen them Open yet for the season (as of Dec. 3, 2014). They are kind of tucked behind another building on the west side of Central Ave. about 3/4 of the way through town going north. Almost everyone ends up at another business asking directions, so don't be shy. They understand. You can buy whole fresh crab, but the bagged, already cleaned/cooked crab is what is mostly coveted here. Very Expensive, be prepared. But we get $25 worth a couple times a season as a special treat. They're fresh catch, so they're usually closed by 6 PM.
