My wife and I have enjoyed Darwell's on the coast numerous times and have loved it, but our experience a few weeks ago at the Pearl location was not enjoyable. The service was bad...rude, slow...just bad. However, the food was worse. My "beef tips" were not tips at all and were covered in this over-salty gravy that was inedible. My wife's shrimp and grits was also over-salty and hardly edible. For dessert was a blueberry pudding, which seemed like a grainy muffin batter mixed with cool whip or something. Not good. We had stomach aches for the next day. For the prices you pay here, you would expect something much more. :(

This was exactly the casual, reasonably priced seafood stop my son and I needed midway through our trip back north. You order at a window and then go sit down. The place was chilly, so in the off-season bring in a jacket. He had never tried crawfish and loved them. We also got boiled shrimp and gumbo. Both were very good. I especially liked that the gumbo was not loaded with rice, had just enough. It's BYOB, and we saw several groups coming in with coolers. If I lived there I would definitely hang out with friends to watch sports. We will make a point to stop there on future trips to NOLA.

We really like eating at Drago's in Jackson. The charbroiled oysters are delicious. A lot of good choices on the menu. I had the redfish with crabmeat which was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Cobb salad. We had bread pudding for dessert. Good food at reasonable prices

I stopped n Labor Day at the outside bar. It was very nice views of the reservoir and had a tropical like atmosphere. Lots of friendly people and servers. The food was good and reasonably priced. I would recommend the outside bar because of the atmosphere!Hi, Norman! We really appreciate these compliments. Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you enjoyed our view, atmosphere, service, and food! Thank you, also, for recommending our tiki bar. We have recently enclosed it with a clear, vinyl, heated tent, making it comfortable for year-round use! We hope to see you back at Shaggy's very soon!

Customer service was horrible, the waiter became rude, simple because I asked about a side salad. Not one time did I get a refill, nor the parent that was waiting on their son to enlist. They refilled everyone around us, and keep walking past my empty cup. Paying bill, the gentleman at the counter refused acknowledge my hand out, laying my ticket on the counter, as well as ink pen. As we walked out, his response was, I see why I left the south. â¹ï¸

My wife and I enjoyed a lunch break here on our trip. Service was quick and attentive. Grilled shrimp were succulent and tasty. Fried catfish tenders were delicious as well. We'll be visiting this place again on our next drive through Jackson.

Time for lunch in Jackson, MS....love the inside space of this restaurant...they have a dog friendly patio, inside bar and plenty of tables inside with light coming thru the windows.. love this. So many choices on the menu that it was hard to choose, but our waiter Alex was very helpful. Love his energy and he was right - the beer battered fish was awesome, as the veggies that we ordered with it. Definitely a must on our next visit!!Hello, Thank you for the five stars! My family and I were looking for a place to eat in Flowood and decided to try Half shell. We were very pleased with everything. New Orleans atmosphere, cajun cooking and great service. Our waitress Dorthea was attentive and prompt. Our 2 kids loved the food the food as much as we did. We will definitely return.

My wife and I regularly eat at Walkerâs when in Jackson and we are never disappointed. This time we each had the Hereford beef filet with sides of mashed potatoes, asparagus, sautéed spinach and crunchy onion âstringsâ. Simply splendid. Though stuffed we could not pass up the fried fig pie and fig pecan cake, both out of this world. The food, combined with top notch service, make this restaurant a true star.
