The municipality comprises the towns of Belzele, Doornzele, Ertvelde, Evergem proper, Kerkbrugge-Langerbrugge, Kluizen, Rieme, Sleidinge and Wippelgem. On January 1, 2006, Evergem had a total population of 32,244. The total area is 75.04 square kilometres (28.97 sq mi) which gives a population density of 430 inhabitants per km².

Found this place using TA, looked really good. We arrived and they were full (always a good sign) so were told to come back in 15 mins.We were shown to our table and that's where we sat for 30 mins, no menu, no water, no drinks. Our order was eventually taken and we had to wait another 20 mins for just the drinks and bread to turn up. We then waited another 30 mins for food to come out (only arrived after I asked where it was) At no point were we checked on, asked for more drinks ect. We finished our.... food, It wasn't great, it wasn't bad. For the price I expected better in truth. The service really showed its colors when we were asked why we did not finish the wine (there was ligitamiltly a fly in it) she shruged her shoulders and just took it away! no replacement. The service here was terrible, I was made to feel like we had inconvenienced her simply by being there. In short, Id recommend against this place, perhaps we got it on a bad day but as it was to celebrate an anniversary it put a cloud over the evening. If I had the service here I would have just walked out.

Some of the previous reviews slate the restaurant for having a limited menu, we were informed from the outset that the menu was solely lobster and were under no illusions going in. What fantastic lobster it was! In fairness, not a lobster connoisseur, but we thought the food was fantastic. A bit dear, although, probably not for lobster and for the quantity (3 x 1/2 lobster plus pud for â¬59). The setting is amazing; quaint with great atmosphere and nice understated features. We sat on the terrace with the setting sun. Our waitress did her best with her limited English, taking the time to explain the dishes and have a chat. Only criticism for us was that they appeared a little under staffed so time between courses was quite long - not a problem if you enjoy the company of who you're with. Would highly recommend.

This is perhaps the restaurant in Belgium with the biggest stock of live lobsters.This is not a big restaurant but they give great attention to the quality of food and services. From starter, main course and dessert, they are all very good. Just come and spend a nice time here .

If you're looking for the exquisite delicacies Belgium's chefs have on offer, you have to try this trendiest Restaurant in beautiful Ghent, no your usual setting, made from an old taxi's garage, decorated in a refined industrial look, the food experience is second to none!The sea food and fish, desert are presented in delicate, tasteful and eye watering ways. Amazing wine selection for the less connaisseur, you can't go wrong. Bill as expected for the quality and environment. Thank you for this amazing review! Located in the heart of Ghent, Otium is the place to be for fine Italian dining while immersed in a great atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, you're welcomed by the lovely staff who will go above and beyond to deliver you the best culinary experience when exploring the wide variety of Italian food, downtown Ghent. Next to the fixed menu staples such as the 'amatriciana estiva' or 'costelle di agnello', Otium serves new suggestions every day, combining the freshest ingredients to deliver an explosion of flavors on your plate. The restaurant offers a range of good wines to pair with each dish, and you don't need to hesitate to ask any recommendations in case you're in doubt: they're always on point. Otium is my go-to Italian restaurant for any occasion, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a night of great conversations and accompanying food.

We went to Brasserie Louloudi when we had a nights stop in Lovendegem on a cold and wet November evening. We hadn't booked and when we went into the restaurant and saw so many tables marked as reserved we were worried they wouldn't be able to fit us in. Thankfully they were able and we had one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere.We ordered a Chateaubriand. They asked whether we wanted a sauce or in its own juices and we're so glad we chose to have it in its juices because it was so flavoursome. A gorgeous salad and wonderful frites accompanied the meal which was cooked perfectly.All through the meal the staff were friendly and attentive and didn't laugh (too) much at my attempts to speak Dutch. Luckily they spoke fluent English. There is nothing I could pick out and say "ought to do this to improve". The meal was that good - probably the best steak I have ever eaten in my entire life and my wife and I will certainly return!

Small intimate restaurnt in the village of Lovendegem (20 minutes from Ghent).I have been here a few times, and the menu is varied, creative and the food well prepared.Service is friendly and efficient. Restaurant has recently been expanded to give a more spatious feel. Nice terrace out back for summer dining.The lunch reccomendation is a good value option.

I was invited and didnât know what to expect. The description of the dishes were surprising and I finally ha a gravad laks which was nice but a cheesecake from seabass that was unforgettable. Worth trying.
