Dropped in for lunch and found the menu quite varied with good wholesome dishes and options for children. Parking isn't bad and the Kirtonhall Glen is very close with its swings etc for the young folk. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful however it wasn't cheap. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the park and Kirktonhall House with its impressive restored Scottish Sundial. It's better inside than it looks. An autobank is located at the Post Office next door.

Popped in to this frequent haunt yesterday for a family lunch. Food was plentiful, hot and tasty, as usual (including my favourite- dry roll with veggie sausages ). Always a warm , friendly welcome from the lovely, attentive staff . The great views of Arran were obliterated yesterday by our beautiful Scottish “summer” weather of torrential downpour and a thunder & lightening storm ☔️⚡️, which lit up the restaurant..........this free show drew great gasps & “oohs” & “aahs” from our fellow diners. Priceless. Thanks, as always Rowan Tree, see you again soon.

The pate is to die for. First tried after buying at a farmers market and have now made a few trips to the shops or picked up orders from another farmers market. Had lunch while there and soup and sandwich were pretty great as well. Definitely recommend this little place.

Braidwoods is in the North Ayrshire countryside, open for over 20 years with the same owner and has a Michelin star.We remember eating there twenty years ago. We were impressed then and the standard of service, friendliness and the quality of the food were wxcellent this time as well.A lot of the items on the menu were sourced locally. and produced with lovely sauces and additions. The wine list had interesting and less well known wines along with a good range of French and World classics. We had a lovely evening in a relaxed atmosphere with great food and wine.

Lunch on saturday. Nice atmosphere although not very busy. Not licenced but fine to bring own wine/beer, would have been nice to know when booking. Service was fine although of two serving staff, one clearly had the better customer skills and was kept busy while other barely seemed to know what to do. More training needed maybe.Owner came and spoke to us about fisheries and oysters after I asked a question which was a nice touch and helped it seem more of a warm experience.Food was delicious, we went all out on seafood and had a dozen succulent and sweet oysters (naturale), shared hot and cold seafood platters. Very, very good seafood, maybe best I have had in Scotland although perhaps a few too many squat lobsters in platter, could put more of other things on perhaps?Very well priced in general. Farm shop has lots of choice to take away something.

Went for dinner at The Waterside and was overall satisfied with our meal. For starters, the view is just beautiful, which really added to the experience. The food was delicious and very well presented. Most of the staff were great and attentive. However, once we were done with our meals, it took staff at least 20 mins to come over and clear the table, small criticism but as the restaurant was quiet I expected the service to be a little quicker.

Booked a table for 12 people based upon TripAdvisor reviews and the comprehensive menu on their website. When we got there they only offered us a 2 or 3 course menu not the a la carte menu on the website. We were told that the main menu was only available at weekends but this isn’t mentioned on the website. There was no real attempt to appease us and the service was slow. Some of our party enjoyed the food others found it very average. Really disappointed Hi there,Firstly, thanks very much for taking the time to give us this valuable feedback. The A la Carte Menu is indeed only available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday's. As a result of your comments, I have made this more visible on both the website and upon entry to the hotel. The Grill items and full House Menu are available 7 days a week, holding the better part of 20 main courses, but I can understand your disappointment if there was something specific you had in mind prior to your arrival.I am sorry that you did not have the experience you or I expected, and I can only hope that you give us another chance to show you how good we are.

I went to Largs with my husband, granddaughter & great niece. Before going to the swing park we came in here for our lunch. As it was the holiday weekend & the weather was lovely the place was really busy. We eventually managed to get a seat inside. This is the first time we've been here. There menu is really good with lots of different things to pick from. Our meal was lovely, even though they were really busy the service was good. It's on the sea front so the view is great. We will definitely go back hereThank you Maryann for your kind comments. It can be difficult to maintain service when things are really busy so we appreciate your patience, understanding and kindness in taking the time to comment. I’m delighted that you enjoyed our food and the choices available. we are currently looking at revamping the menu to keep it fresh and seasonal with a few extra winter warmers on the way. I hope we will see you again next time you are in Largs. Very best wishes, Jim.
