Even if the C.U.Bar was right by the slopes I doubt it would be that successful - unless major changes were made to it. To start with, it was incredibly smokey. Yes, I know we could have (and should have) walked out but we wanted to watch the rugby on Sky and couldn't find anywhere else showing it near our hotel. It's also in the wrong place - in a barren area between the first two (of three) clusters of building that make up Obergurgl.This bar is identical in size and layout to Schatzi's in Saalbach - I'd suggest the owner / manager of the C.U.Bar goes there to see how to properly run a bar of this size.

Hier eet je in het restaurant van het vrijetijdcentrum, een centrum waar je kan bowlen en zwemmen. De mensen zijn er vriendelijk en er is wel keuze op het menu alleen heeft het een beetje lang geduurd tegen dat het eten klaar was. Voor de rest was alles in orde. Hou er wel rekening mee dat de keuken tot 20u open is, daarna wordt er niets meer gemaakt.

If you are in Hochsölden it is highly recommendable to visit this very bar with the probably best view in the area. It is located on top of the oldest hotels in Hochsölden (renovated of cause) and the drinks selection if broad and the service competent.

This pub is good for apres ski in the afternoon, because it is right on the ground station of the cableway. And they close on 18:00.

This place is very good in all ways. If you get there after 10 it is possible to sit in the sun and enjoy the good food and you will get it very fast, because the waiters is very good! - Simon

After a short journey up from the main street by funicular your ears pick up on the thumping music emitting from Philipp Bar. Once inside (or outside on the terrace) service was prompt and, when ordering certain shots, very theatrical !!!The only downside, when youâre no longer accustomed to it, was the excessive cigarette smoke.

Occasionally on a lads skiing trip you just want a quiet beer without the thumping alpine music, thick fog of cigarette smoke and a legion of drunk idiots - the Grizzly fitted the bill perfectly. Comfortable seating, traditional decor and efficient table service all made for a pleasant change.
